At least in some places. A few people seem to have gotten them in.

Great gun and solid value at those $1,199 starting bids. Wish they made a 14.5" version with the pinned muzzle brake though.

That's cheaper than the Ruger SR556 is going for (on gunbroker), and you get a lot more for you money IMO. Hopefully someone on here picks on up. Would love to see a range report. |

Nice. Hopefully the Russian variant will hit stores soon. If it is close to that price I will be on it in a second.

Waiting for accuracy reviews on the 7.62x39 version. Will want to SBR one if they are favorable.

Meh, I don't think it looks half bad with the cheek riser removed, or with the different stocks. https://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/catalog/product/556xi-Carbon-16-detail-hero.jpg View Quote That looks better. Different grip and shorter barrel and it would look pretty sweet. |

I won't be replacing my 556R any time soon. I don't need the caliber conversion aspect because I don't keep anything in 5.56...I hate that round.
That pistol grip looks like it's off of a HiPoint. LMFAO!! |
|
I like the concept of the 556Xi but its not for me. I sill prefer a clone of the 55x series (aka 551a1 and 556). The 556R is also a great value.
|
|
I won't be selling my 556R now that I have it set up with MI front sight, Troy rear and Aimpoint Pro, but at least this rifle comes with sights!
In addition to what I think is horrible marketing (why not Sig 762R instead of 556R), they should have at least issued it with decent basic iron sights, and the buyer always has the option of swapping them out if they desire. Call me old fashion, but if I spend big bucks on a rifle (have M4, CAR-15A2, HK91, DSA FN Congo and Belgium FN FAL, SAR-1 AK), when you pull it out of the box, after a clean and lube, it should be ready for the range. |

A 14,5 barrel on that pinned would be great...........might have to get one of these instead

I actually think the grip looks fairly comfortable, but I would like to be able to use different AR grips. Maybe they'll eventually offer a lower that accepts AR grips (if this one doesn't already), as well as has an ambi bolt release? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Sig Exeter will find a way to screw up the QC on this. I would not be an early adopter.

I looked at one at the store today. I am wondering when they ll have 7.62 in? The store was unboxing it and apparently it only came with one barrell, so do we know how they are going to market the other parts and the other lower?

I would assume the other parts would be sold on their website's store : http://www.sigsauer.com/StoreCategory/genuine-sig-sauer-parts-and-tools-109.aspx |

I haven't got to handle one of these yet, but I actually like the looks of this rifle.
It doesn't look overly bulky like most of the new rifles released the last several years. |

Saw one today at Conroe Gun Show. I THINK the price was in the $1300+ range.
It is DEFINITELY a better balanced weapon than the Sig556. |
|
Be nice if you could order it in pieces so you don't end up with extras

Looks like a nice rifle. I would be wary of the QC issues also. Whish sig would have arrived at this first before going through 3 other variations.

I don't like it, and I predict it will bomb big time for SIG...who still just doesn't seem to get it.

One of the main complains for the 556 was the weight, and the cut it down. There's also a demand for modular rifles than can change calibers. Guess what the 556xi does? |

I have to agree that the XI rifle, particularly the 7.62x39 configuration, should sell well... but I think the 5.56 market is too crowded for that variant to be a breakout hit though.
Anybody who wanted a 55X either has one already or is going to have to ice down their blue balls because the 551A1 was as close as Sig USA was going to get. |

I do as well............interchangeable barrels will help alot. Cant make my mind up whether I want one of these, an ARX-100 or an FN SCAR........

That is a great selling point.............and they are available now at various places. I still want to hold both of them and handle them........cant make up my mind

Any idea whether it will be better to get a 5.56 XI and a 7.62 conversion kit or a 7.62x39mm complete rifle and 5.56 conversion kit?

Wonder if the aftermarket will offer barrels. Might be cool to have a 10" 6.5 Grendel.
I always wondered why sig never offered at least the pistols in 6.8. Perfect fit for a SBR. |

Whoever makes a next gen 6.8 carbine with the right barrel will make my dreams come true. I would love to see SIG do it.
