The Troy rails are awesome. Heavy, but very nicely executed.

+1 and I understand you can still remove the gas tube for cleaning unlike the Samson rail.

I was on the fence about getting a Sig556 Classic Swat, after I saw the Troy Battlerail, that sealed it for me, I'm making a move on it within the next couple of pay periods...

You won't regret it. I have had AR15's and this rifle is the most fun to shoot by far and...........the easiest to clean!

Thanks for the advice, I've got an AR, its a 7.62x39... I'll be getting a Sig ASAP.

Which model should I get? The Swat? The Class? The Classic Swat? I plan on Tacticooling it up, all Troy:)

Sorry to thread jack, but where has everyone picked up their Troy rail from? I've been scouting for weeks for a used one and can't seem to find an amazing deal. Anyone know off hand who has the best deal on rails?

Are they extremely difficult to find? Can't you just order them from Troy themselves?

I used to be a "The 556 ain't that heavy" guy until my suppressor cleared and put it on my classic swat. I even bulked up some so it wasn't so front heavy. Well 20 ounces put it in the no way in hell category. It is bearable with a heavy compensator or flash hider. YMMV

The Troy is the best rail system for the 556.

If I were to do it all over I would go with a Patrol model with Troy's short rail system.

I sized up both Troy and Samson 556 rails, and to me the Samson was just a flat out better product.

I want a 7.63x39 in the Patrol or pistol configuration so that I can SBR it and put one of these rails on it.

LOL, yeah there are a bunch of guys waiting for a SIG556R patrol version to come out...as an SBR it would be the 21st century Krinkov.
