Yup, you can see several more examples in the photothreads in the Euro HTF.

Wow, very rare. how does it shoot? out of all the goodies I get to play with I've actually never even got to hold one of these... and trust me. I get my grubby little paws on a LOT of stuff.....

Those are some sweet looking guns. I gotta get the Sampson rails for my rifle, they look pretty nice.

How difficult is it to get an SBR permit?  I was thinking of getting a pistol to turn into an SBR.

No permit, just a tax stamp and as the above poster mention, patience.

Wes, looks sweet. Is that unfired? If not, what's your secret? I put 60rds of brass through my SBR and It now has a patch about the size of my thumb down to the steel from brass kisses.

Your SBR looks incredible! It amazes me the loops we as consumers have to jump through to get the final product we want out of Sig. Job well done Firedog!

Well, I'm somewhat annoyed...  Went to get a routine eye examination the other week, and found out that my previous eye doc had transposed some numbers on my previous perscription.  No wonder I was darn near blind in my right eye..

Here's my rifle without the riser, which allows for co-witnessing:

A Griffin charging handle is on order.

This is my SIG, nicknamed it War Horse.  Love the thing! I've got a Bushnell Holosight with an Aimpoint magnifier I got for $200, and it came with two types of mounts.  Its got a MI front sight, and a UTG rear sight that I'm gonna put on as soon as I find the allen wrench that fits the bushnell to move it forward.

I'm waiting.
I keep thinking of buying another to go a different route, more of a 552 clone, look forward to seeing yours all done.

A 552 clone would be sweet.  I would like to pick up another 556P to SBR via my corp., if I had the spare $.  I'm thinking of using it as a platform to T&E some parts I'd like to manufacture.  Lately, things have been lean so I've traded old gun parts to pick up the things I needed for my SBR.  That has worked out well and helped clean out the safe.

My 556-to-552 SBR is almost complete and will be sent back to me sometime next week.  The final smithing work is to weld the steel rail welded in place that was removed from a demilled 552 post-sample MG receiver.  It will then go to the refinisher for phosphating and painting.  Eventually this will wear an Aimpoint T-1 in LaRue mid-height mount.  Not pictured is the Swiss Arms railed fore-end that I was fortunate to score from Larry Gaglio when he was clearing out all his SIG stuff a few months ago.  It is a Swiss Arms product improved variant of the B&T 552 rail that is made from billet aluminum as opposed to the B&T which I seem to recall Larry telling me started life as a casting.

This rifle started life a one of the first series of 556 rifles.  I sent it to Frank Hatten at Antique and Modern Arms.  He modified the 556 receiver and barrel to 552 spec, then used the parts from my 552 kit (which was also purchased from Larry Gaglio, but about 3 years ago).

More pics to follow once it is complete, but here are a few that Frank sent me of the build in progress:

very nice. I want a 552 conversion very badly. I feel in love with the 552 after shooting one at a machine gun shoto a few years back.

If we could carry rifles openly here like the Swiss (with the addition of a loaded mag,) I'd be a happy man.

As a added bonus it is non-restricted for us Canadians.

What is a DDLES handguard cap?  I want to do the same handguard configuration and I know I'll need a new cap.  But what is DDLES and where can I get one?

Thank you!

Never mind...thanks Google.

My 556/552 is back from the 'smith!  Next it goes for refinishing.  Have not yet fired it, will probably put some rounds downrange this weekend just to see how it handles.  Don't mind the cheesy SigSauer red dot; it is just there so I can see how it will be once it wears a T-1.
