I have an FFL and opened my business in 2014. My business name has "Gun" in the name.
Credit card guy (Encore) says "no problem" only to come back and say Deutsche Bank won't allow it. So, the credit card guy at Encore had to set us up with WoodForrest.

All was fine until one of my machines went down. Encore tried to download some new software and bricked the machine. We had two cash registers and two credit card terminals so we just used the remaining machine. This Sunday night the second machine went down in a thunderstorm. WoodForrest told us the machine was bricked and we had to purchase a new machine.

We went through WoodForrest's company called Merchant Foundry and ordered a new credit card machine that is supposed to accept the new chip cards. Well, as it turns out the new machine will only accept chip Credit cards and not chip Debit cards. This means I will have to pay the higher fee to use a credit card. I want to be compliant but I want to be able to use chipped Debit since the rates are usually cheaper.

So, I am frustrated and looking for a better solution. Is there anyone using Payment Alliance or other gun friendly solution that works with chip cards?

PAI user for two years. I have not received notice of chip readers being available.

No problem with them at all.

Hopefully they have chip reader machines. As of October 2015 the merchant is liable for any counterfeit chip card transactions.

Try Payment Alliance International.  They are the preferred processor for the NRA.  I work in that industry and the sponsor banks have put gun stores on the prohibited list. This was part of Eric Holder's operation "choke point"  He basically put Gun shops in with, porn stores, steroid shops, and other dirty businesses.

Chip processing is important because if the chip isn't used and someone disputes the transaction, you automatically lose. Feel free to IM me any questions.

I specifically didn't use the word gun because of this. Ever since 9/11 it's been tough to do business with banks

We used to own and operate check cashing stores for many years but since then many banks close your accounts after some time for some BS reason citing the patriot act.

Terrorists hurt everyone even the honest business man

I'm planning on going to PAI(have a prev history with them) but I will use only the llc name which is xxx group llc

I didn't have to get a dba but I did just in case. But I plan on operating with only the llc name

Payment Alliance has chip reader machines, we have had two since last fall.

The other is the company founded by McMillan.
