THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I bought a incomplete early civilian Springfield Armory M6 Survival Rifle (not Scout) and the ass-end (no barrel unit) of a CZ made M6 Scout.

I noticed on the SA made one that only the barrel unit is serialed and the ass-end is not.

On the CZ ass-end it has a serial but the CZ made M6 has both the front and rear serialed.

I'm thinking about selling the CZ ass-end but was wondering if it would have to go to a FFL as a recordable part. I know the dealer I got it from only had the SA booked in and not the CZ ass-end.

Usually the receiver is what counts for serial numbers.

Perhaps the CZ is marked like most European firearms...where just about every part has the serial number to the firearm is was installed on (such as Mausers, which have the bolt, barrel, bottom metal, butt plate and numerous other parts with the receiver's S/N)

If your FFL didn't have it booked as a firearm, I would assume it's not.
