My armorer is considered one of the best AR guys on the east coast and wasn't impressed with the KBA washer and refused to install my SF FH with it.
I have a novel idea!! Why the F can't IMI finish the barrels like everyone else so we no longer have this issue to correct??!!
Why? Because then you'd have people screaming that it isn't "authentic" like the IDF spec'd. So they do it the way the gun was developed. You could say the same thing about Steyr and the thread pitch and lock nut that they use on their barrels.

I remember when I had my HK SL8 barrel worked on. I sent it to one of the two guys who was well known and respected for converting SL8 to G36 clones. When I asked him to cut it to 16 1/4", profile it, and thread to for 1/2x28, I had to repeat myself. he just couldn't believe that I wanted something that wasn't an HK length or metric threads. He tried to talk me out of it.
So yes, the purist fanboys who would throw a stink-fit are most certainly out there. To this day, that is probably still the only HK barrel he has put standard threads on, and he probably remembers it just as much as I remember having to talk him into doing it.
You also have to consider the logistics of common parts. We know that IWI is bringing over parts from Israel to assemble these rifles in the U.S. That is why they include a warning to only use domestic magazines for reasons of parts count. I'm fairly certain that the barrel is one of those parts. The muzzle device likely is, as well.
FWIW, I had no trouble at all putting my "proper suppressor host" on my Tavor. I called Elite Iron to order the mount, and had the measurements ready when I called. As it turns out, I didn't need a special mount, but if I did they would have been more than willing to make a longer one. That is what a quality manufacturer will do for their customers.
