I have been searching the net, is there anyplace to get the black Steyr case with the orange embroidered logo.
Pete said they only shipped with the CQC.

There was a hard case and a soft case. By "embroidered" I'd guess you mean soft case. Those soft cases are pretty much all gone as of a year or two ago. The hard cases are looooong gone. I've only seen two or three and Pete had them all.

There is this bag, it's relatively new.

This is the style I'd like.

I reminds me of the factory soft case shipped with my ARX100

I'm selling my Steyr bag...though it also comes with a CQC and is a bit more than what just the soft case would retail for...

I have one that came with mine....for what it's worth the bag is "OK" but I prefer my Blackhawk Discreet carry....seems better design
and the closed cell padding is denser.

I have a cqc bag with resident cqc rifle and accessories and it looks nice, as a package.
For really transporting I'm going with the bulldog bags from brownells. It will even hold my 18" barreled Tavor, all with vortex RDSs mounted, no strain on the zipper. The rifles don't slide around.

I would consider the new case they offer but it's 42" long, with a 16" rifle only 27" in overall length I don't like all the extra length. My tavor was the same way until the "factory" IWI case came out.

I like the presentation of having my AUG M1 in a factory case, and yes if i needed more for a day at the range i would use one of my Condor or Larue cases.

So Steyr got back to me last week, looks like they no longer have the soft case I want.

Why the heck would they offer a 42" long case for a 27-28" long rifle

Holy crap - it's 42" long.
I'd say there are better options for the AUG.

What length barrel/OAL?

I really like this bag. I have one for my Tavor. Opticsplanet has some decent prices for them.

Half the price of the Larue, and likely who makes the bag for Larue...but 28" OAL.  (I have one, nice bag, did a review here somewhere and on BPF..)
Explorer mojo bag

I have a 16" M3 A1, its 28" long

Those long 42" long case were probably ordered by someone at Steyr that didn't know what they were doing! Its to short for there precision rifles and no FUDD is going to put there dear slayer in a tactile style case

I will have to agree, the Steyr one kinda sucks.......I will have to get a couple of the above.

I have the same explorer case RTP has. I also have the Steyr case you're looking for. The explorer bag is a much better case. The Steyr case isn't much of a "case", more of a "bag". It doesn't have good rigidity and only serves to protect the gun with a layer of material. The explorer case has rigid sides, interior pockets, and you can use the included velcro partitions to make it fit what you have.

Of course, one doesn't just have one case, so if you are wanting the Steyr logo'd case just because it is for the AUG, then I hope eventually you are able to find one.

I like the features of the IWI case, but I can't in good conscience let a fine Austrian firearm mingle with Israelis.

This is the same bag I use (though I did not pay that much).

If the CQC uses the same 16" barrel and same flash hider it would work well.  If it's any longer, it's going to be very tight.

Naah, but I do need a Steyr patch to put on the front of the IWI bag.  Anyone got one? (seriously, I DO need one...)

I like the Tavor OK, but not enough to buy one at retail, and a buddy has one for whenever I 'want' to shoot it - just haven't had the urge when I have my AUG with me.
Nothing 'wrong' with them, or anyone that has one or both AUGs and Tavors, but I'm also not sure the X95 does anything I need it to do over the AUG.
Going to see if Desert Tech gets their act together or not on the MDR...otherwise will buy another AUG.

If Steyr would consider trying to do some marketing and $, I'd say a quality bag OEMed + badged for them (clone the IWI whom cloned the Drago/Condors...) might make a few $...just look at how many bag threads we windup with.

The CQC has an extender on the end of the barrel that adds about an inch or so to the overall length.  This was done so that the flash suppressor was beyond the rail cage.

Yeah, thought so.

The flash hider would be rubbing the zipper at best, or sticking out 1/4" and not letting the zipper close.
