Took 2 hours to wiggle some plastic card stick up the mag well, think the spring went sour, not pulling the latch out enough to release the Magpul gen 2 mag. Is Ratworx still involved with the MSAR or have they bailed out too?

The fix was to send the stock to MSAR and have the stainless steel mag latch installed. It was free when MSAR was still in business.I don't know if Ratworx can do it for you or not,but it might pay to give them a call. They are nice folks.

I just checked with RatWorx, they are out of the metal mag release.

The most common MSAR fix is to sell it & buy a Steyr.  Sad to say & plenty have said it before me but its the best thing you could do.

There are some stock sets available out there; have you been checking the EE?

Maybe GB, GA or just online in general.
Good luck.

Thanks for the information.
How is the metal magazine catch identified from the plastic one?  Is the difference visible on the outside?

I don't think you can see it from the outside- pop the ejection cover off and look with a light? Ive been looking on line for the part, think I screwed around to long, no one seems to have the part any more.

You can easily see the mag catch by flipping your MSAR belly up and shining a light in the mag well.  The plastic catch is black and the metal catch is satin stainless color.

I happen to have the stainless steel mag catch you're looking for, message me. I also have (2) unused MSAR E4 stocks I was going to post in the equipment exchange, (1) green and (1) black, message me if interested.

I have one of their last generation E4 stocks in black that I'd be willing to part with.  Contact me via PM.

Guys - no one here is asking to buy an entire stock.  This is about the one metal part (mag release) - not a thread to offer your stocks for sale.  Use the EE for that.
