So yesterday I dug out my MSAR XM17-E4 and took it shooting.  Popped an aluminum mag in, emptied it, and you know the rest of the story.

Got it loose by removing the spring/follower and pushing the mag catch with a screwdriver.

I vaguely recall a recall for this issue but maybe I missed the boat.

What to do?

give msar a call or email first, they should still cover it.  if they won't or you can't get in touch with them, i'd give ratworx a call.  i think they have the parts.

Mine was supposedly sent back to MSAR last week for the same problem.  The gunshop I bought it from was going to "take care of it".

Yes, call MSAR their email RA# form is shit. You have to talk to a human to get a RA#.
