What is the difference between the mentioned 'A2’ style and the current scopes on the M1's?

It would have been nice if they did. But hey, they do come with a set of lens caps! Thanks, Pete Athens / Pja 704 668 7973 www.pjs-steyraug.com www.steyrauga3cqc.com |

Pete hooked me up! If you have the means I highly recommend picking one up. It is so choice. These guns really are incredible. I wasn't sure about the optic, but went with the 3X and so far feel it is a great balance for this rifle. I'll shoot it in a week and report back then. I have owned a USR, A1, and several Microtechs and this one is a keeper this time. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/Redhed97/330A883E-60CC-4D0F-9684-DE5D56AE5502_zps7mji0euv.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/Redhed97/DE7C786A-C076-4325-BDB5-FE360DCBE534_zps0z0nvfhr.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/Redhed97/C5DFF4A7-538E-4A86-9958-0DC9E9F33850_zpsgqiagir4.jpg View Quote I'm really diggin that rifle |

Wow this is really great to see. I've always wanted an AUG, ever since just missed the chance (too young), in the late 80s. But when they came back, they didn't look the same as they did in the 80's... And pretty expensive.
Now they finally got it right again, and I'm seriously wanting one. I will have one before years end! 20" green 3X |

I agree on being more robust. That optic housing is built like a tank, and the fastening method is better than anything previous. BUT not offering the "classic" look after all this is a big letdown to the people who were waiting for an "A1" without the A1 price.

I don't mind rail "options". But I don't like useless f'ing rails all over my weapons when they aren't being used. The rails on the optic just strike me as silly. But I am just a lowly working class stiff, I'm sure that Steyr knows better than me. Who knows, perhaps they will reconsider once I have gotten past paying the ex alimony, and I'll be able to afford one then. |

Steyr may not be 100% on the ball, but you can't fault them for not listening to their customers. The deal with A1/A2 type optic not being available for purchase right now isn't and shouldn't be a deal breaker, the M1 is a great AUG as is. I happen to really REALLY like the M1 with optic. As I've said before in this thread, I think it is the best version of the AUG thus far. I have one M1 right now, but do intend to pick up some more as I really do like the M1 over all other versions of the AUG. |
