What is the difference between the mentioned 'A2’ style and the current scopes on the M1's?

No ETA yet on them.

We are taking pre orders for them.

We do have a few new M1s in stock!

This was the best I could do with my bad camera skills, and it still doesn't fully do the optic justice.

What is the glass quality of the new 1.5X versus the old A1/A2 1.5X?
Is optical quality about the same?

The M1 got here today! !!! All I can say is it's really a work of art! It's very well balanced, fit and finish it is great, ar mags fit tight but still drop free. The trigger is  actually not bad at all. The glass in the optic is also very nice. Its crisp & clear edge to edge. Waiting on the T-1 to get here and the its off to the range.

Pete hooked me up!  If you have the means I highly recommend picking one up.  It is so choice.

These guns really are incredible.  I wasn't sure about the optic, but went with the 3X and so far feel it is a great balance for this rifle.  I'll shoot it in a week and report back then.  I have owned a USR, A1, and several Microtechs and this one is a keeper this time.

I thought about a RMR or Delta point but the lens on the RMR scratches to easy and the Delta's battery life is not that great.. that what I told myself to justify putting a t-1 up there. Honestly I wish I had just picked up a 20" bbl.

Wow this is really great to see.  I've always wanted an AUG, ever since just missed the chance (too young), in the late 80s.   But when they came back, they didn't look the same as they did in the 80's...  And pretty expensive.

Now they finally got it right again, and I'm seriously wanting one.  I will have one before years end!  20" green 3X

I currently don't have an A3 M1. Just an A1, ADI A2 receiver+rail, and an A3 CQC. I will be adding an A3 M1 within I few months I suspect, or sooner if word of an Aussie style rail being available comes about.

I agree on being more robust. That optic housing is built like a tank, and the fastening method is better than anything previous.  BUT not offering the "classic" look after all this is a big letdown to the people who were waiting for an "A1" without the A1 price.

Bummer.

I don't mind rail "options".

But I don't like useless f'ing rails all over my weapons when they aren't being used.   The rails on the optic just strike me as silly.    But I am just a lowly working class stiff, I'm sure that Steyr knows better than me.   Who knows, perhaps they will reconsider once I have gotten past paying the ex alimony, and I'll be able to afford one then.

I'm saving to get one of the new ones. I want an aimpoint t1 or t2 on top and a cqbl-1 laser mounted on the smaller portion of rail on the scope. Wold work great with my cousins night vision

Sorry to hear that as I think the picatinny rails on top of the scope look silly, and add unnecessary metal (weight).  As well as machining costs someone had to pay for, for something I consider of useless benefit.  Not a deal-killer, but as a customer I view this as a detriment.

Absolutely. Steyr may not be 100% on the ball, but you can't fault them for not listening to their customers.

The deal with A1/A2 type optic not being available for purchase right now isn't and shouldn't be a deal breaker, the M1 is a great AUG as is.

I happen to really REALLY like the M1 with optic. As I've said before in this thread, I think it is the best version of the AUG thus far.
I have one M1 right now, but do intend to pick up some more as I really do like the M1 over all other versions of the AUG.

Not going to lie, that is a great looking rifle!  I do like the light rail on the side.  I see you went with one that takes AR style mags, vs the AUG original style mags.  Seems like lots of people say they like the AUG mags - you like the AR Mags better?
