I'm sure I know where this will go, but try to support your comments with logic.

Background, I have an MSAR E4.

There are rumors of a 7.62 Tavor

What's the intended purpose?

If you don't have anything similar to the SR762 than get it.

The Tavor is awesome! Oh ya logic... I have a Sig716... That should be close to a Sr762 :) .308/7.62 is pretty expensive... Unless you are sitting on a crapload of it. So shooting the Tavor is cheaper. Since you already have a bull pup all those positives from owning one are kind of moot. I didn't own a .308 so I bought my Sig, now I'm back to buying more bull pups. If you really want the Ruger and larger caliber go for it,. If you own an Ar10 or similar rifle already I would go with the Tavor. Also 7.62 mags, if you don't got some that can get kind of expensive. That may be another expense with the Ruger.

It all comes down to logic for me.

For the "type" of shooting /training I do
I have no need for a 7,62 rifle.

I know they have 9mm conversions from 5.56mm.
Any chance they would make a .308 version that would allow all the caliber conversions from that platform?
I think that would make it a will do, can do all weapons platform.

If you mean 7.62NATO, it is nothing more than rumor. If you mean something with a 7.62 bore diameter, that would be the .300BLK.

Okay I know this goes without saying, but in typical Ar15 fashion.. Get both.. Someone had to say it sorry..Seriously tho the desert tech MDR is the best compromise next up would be the RFB, but that MDR appears to have most of the ergo's of the Tavor & could be a real winner

Objectively looking at it, I would say get the Tavor.
It is a good CQB rifle and unless you need to reach out to long range will be fine.
Secondly, while made in the USA, parts of the Tavor come from Israel and if there is any kind of a ban it MAY be harder to obtain one, I say MAY.
There are several .308 manufacturers here in the USA.
