The scopes have a history of not working––check it carefully, supposedly MSAR never did declare bankruptcy, so I sure they will honor any warranty work on their rifles.

They absolutely filed for bankruptcy. They have also stopped warrantying their rifles.

Is $1400 too much? I would say $400 is too much.

I paid about $1200 for mine, without all that gear. Haven't had any scope issues. Sounds about right. CDNN might still be closing these out, that is where I got mine.

I think it is a good gun, a little expensive and haven't had any quality issues with it. (Owned it for a couple years.)

AFAIK, they were still doing warranty work as of a couple of months ago.

Filing for bankruptcy and actually moving into bankruptcy are two different things. A supposed employee has posted recently that while they filed, they never actually moved into bankruptcy.

make sure the scope works before paying. Weather or not the rifle is still under a viable warrantee (I'm pretty sure it's not) i can guarantee you the scope is not supported. Also, if it is an E4 with the XM30 mags, make sure they work as well. There are a LOT of the xm30 mags that were defective.
