Ken Has lots of options for modifying this old but good bullpup.
The real secret is inside where you cant see it.
The stoner AR18 action.
And The new K&M trigger and trigger cam that Ken came up with turns this rifle into a smooth shooter.
Really lightens and smooths out the trigger pull.
So not only does it look good but it shoots good too. |

Wasnt aware that he was doing action jobs or that he was making parts for the AUG. I bought one of his trigger mods for my E4.
I just personally like the smaller vents. |

With the large vents, will you get more debris from the piston?

Now that MSAR is out of the bullpup biz, Bushmaster really needs to re-release this rifle. With just a modest redesign, this could be a really nice platform. K&M Aerospace does a very nice job on these and Bushmaster should take note.

It would not be hard to take into account all the aftermarket fixes that have come out for this rifle. Tweek the design a bit and have a great bullpup hopefully at or below what MSAR was selling for. |

The Eotech looks like it was *made* for that beast. |

Ken does great work.
I posted every detail here about mine that he transformed as it was being done and I am still extremely happy with the result. |

looks COOL.
How heavy or light is it with those mods? Balance compared to other bullpup? Total cost of modification? |

Still a heavy rifle.
the weight soaks up recoil nicely
Balance is almost perfect on the grip.
The standard modification package was $350.
Plus I had the barrel shortened crowned and threaded $100.

I like the large slots for heat reduction, weight reduction, and ease of cleaning.
If I had it to do all over again I might have left off the front 2 slots for a grip. |

Have you placed it on the scales? Looks like some serious weight reduction with those large ventholes and barrel shortening. |

I used to have one, heavy piece for what it does. That rain gutter really needs to go, just taking out some lightening holes won't do too much. That said, it's not a turd. Bushmaster had a rough gem and they didn't do anything with it. Polishing the MS17 would have made it a very nice bullpup. They need a nice polymer body case for it (but not cheap like Kel-tec plastic please), and it can be as nice as the FS2000.

Great looking rifle! After seeing threads like this one pop up, I picked one of these up in trade from a shop over in Dallas not too long ago and have been communicating with Ken about doing some work on it. It's a fun gun to shoot, and I haven't had any malfunctions or other problems from mine. It was marked used, but it must've been babied because damned if it doesn't look like it just came out of a box.

Actually, you'd be surprised what a difference the holes and slots, in conjunction with shortening both receiver and barrel, can make in both its overall weight and balance... ![]() Originally Posted By Beyond_Visual_Range: ... Interestingly, I've yet to have any of that "cheap Kel-Tec plastic" fail me in any way, even in .308 (but I don't have a KSG yet, FTR). ![]() |

Nice to see someone doing custom work on those. I thought that kind of support would be harder to find after Kurt Wala's passing.

It was, outside of DIYers, until Ken picked up the ball and ran with it... and I am so glad he did! Mine (above) was actually at KKF awaiting work when Kurt died, but his widow returned it to me. |
