With the 30 round mag in it always reminded me of this one:

Mine's an original, ~#470, but I've had zero trouble except for with one surplus mag that would double-feed.
No piston exploding, no bolt flaking, etc. It just works.

I tried that same slip-on grip, but didn't care for it.

I've got big hands and Glock grips fit me well, it made it a lot more comfortable for me.

Any complaints about your single point sling?

Not really, but it IS a heavy gun, so make sure to get a wide and/or padded sling that you can draw up tight.

Here is a pretty good explanation.

Here are the different instructions for adjusting it.

Man I love the RFB...I got to shoot one little over a year ago...was able to run threw two mags...thing is the sound wave..cuncusion wave?really pierced whatever earmuffs I had...is this normal ? .I should state I am not sure of the ammunition that was used....but the owner seemed to like the best of things...so I'm sure it wasn't cheap ammo. It wasn't the sound per say..it was more like a harmonic wave that I could feel hit me. That same day I shot a P90, FS2000, AUG,Barrett 50 and a few other large caliber rifles.

Fell in love with the RFB. But a small pin broke in the bolt assembly so I knew I needed to wait for a few updates...this was a first run rifle.
But it balancedand shoot very nice...only concern was the shock wave..

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Did it have a kydex cheek rest? A lot of it was probably coming through your jawbone or your muffs were touching the top cover.

No cheek rest.....also...thinking about it...I wounder if the part that broke could of also been the culprit...is it possible for the bolt not compleatly locking ...letting extra pressure out of the back...instead of the barrel? All I remember about the part that broke was that is was like a 7mm metal tab...it wouldn't chamber a round after it was shoot about 100 times.
Well anyways...no cheek rest...I'll ask the original owner more info.... Don't want to gum up this thread..lol

It's definitely a much louder round than a 5.56 so that's somewhat expected. If you earmuff was on the metal plate that would explain some of it. Mine had the kydex cheek rest and it was very tolerable. Shooting off a bench at my range with a roof could also be a little brutal, but outside it wasn't barely noticeable.

For sure on my list of items to reacquire when money is more plentiful.

I have Walthers and HKs at home, so anything less than $60 is cheap.

A local shop had one of the new 'uns. They wanted $1800 It was pretty nice, I must admit. Trigger felt like it was about 5-6lbs. Not a match grade trigger by any means but pretty good for a stock rifle, and especially for a bullpup. I was surprised by how well it balanced; felt like a rifle should. It's kinda odd seeing the ejection chute with the bolt locked back. It's about the most "right" of all the bullpups out there, me thinks. Still, the big question (which was asked), would I buy one? I'd have to sell a 5.56 AR and a 7.62x54R AK, both of which shoot pretty well with surplus ammo. At this time I'd have to say no.
