I would sell a couple to fund it, although right now the cash sale market sucks. This is the first time in my life I have lost money on gun purchases. I am hoping they add to the feature set and go for nitrided barrels. I would love to see a 6.8 conversion kit or .300 BO down the road.

With the track record of the industry, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that these (till they hit the market with great volume) are going to be costing us over 4k. And the shitty thing about it is that (Like the SCAR when it hit the market) people will pay the money for it.

They're only costing us if we buy them for that much money.

I can wait 6mos to 12mos for prices to come down to MSRP and below.

For a product that consumers actually want there is always a subset of buyers who will pay a premium to be first in line. Nothing shitty about that. If it was an unattractive product, and nobody was willing to pay a premium for it, then that would be a shitty thing as we wouldn't want it even at MSRP. This happens with cars, consumer electronics, you name it.

I guess you can hope that a price will eventually come down.

Like the ACR and Scar? How many years now?

Those two haven't gone down in price any noticeable amount if at all.

HK556? Recently Increased by - 10% since they first started shipping?

PS90, FS2000? Still where they were years ago. *

*
A Factory Sku change, which is now allowing distributors to go below their contracted selling price. ( Temporary until their present stock is sold )

I can fathom it just fine, I just can't afford it. Especially on a cost/befefit basis. The Tavor is cool as hell and I'd love to have one, but it just doesn't do enough more or better than an AR to justify a $1000 premium. A couple hundred dollars sure, $500 maybe. But not $1000.

I cannot fathom myself forking over that much for one. Is it cool? Yes. Is it a neat design? Yes. Is it worth that much? No way. Honestly, what can a Tavor do that a Colt 6920 cannot? Looks like the Tavor folks will get a lesson in economics.

It being cool and a neat design is just one of the reasons to pay that much. It is a piston rifle and is shorter with same length barrel. It is a bullpup!!! I don't compare my AUG A3 with ARs, I compare it to MSARs, Tavors, FN2000s etc.....

Since they fire the same caliber... not much. But there are two things it will do better than the Colt that I am willing to pay for. It looks BadA$$ and it will fit through doorways better without dropping the muzzle.

Be 26" long in its shortest fire-able configuration without involving NFA paperwork and 6 month wait times :)

with a 16in barrel so you get more potential out of the 5.56 which can be pretty anemic out of an sbr

The better question would have been "what can it do different that my MSAR or AUG can't?" And actually, since it doesn't have a quick change barrel I would say it offers less. However, I am hoping it will be more reliable and have better customer service than MSAR or Steyr, all the while looking totally badass. Did I mention it looks totally badass?

Do we have a pre-order link yet? I really would love nothing more to get on a waiting list and remove this thread from my subscriptions knowing it's in the pipe.

Just wondering if any new information available other than the Shot 2012 info. It got hot then and generated lots of traffic but since died out. TWA site is still not coming up yet. Hopefully won't be a case of tease and then vapor ware.

All I can report at this stage is that the project is moving along and on track to have product available in October though it is still too early to take names for a waiting list. The website should be up soon. I will post as soon as I have more specific details I can give you. This is not a tease...

Mr K,
Thanks for what you can say. Looking forward to getting my name on the list once it opens up. Keep me in mind. As I am sure you are aware the Tavor is a product we all want and look forward to getting it. Everybody just nervous about not losing the opportunity to get one in case the political winds shift. Thanks for all of your efforts in making this happen.

I would worry more about Iran's designs on Tel Aviv than the potential shifting of political winds in this country. No Israel, no Tavor... Not to mention the loss of so much more...

Mr. Kassnar,
Can you post photos of the factory under construction/setup, along with photos of the weapon assembly lines and maybe some photos from the developtment/testing prototypes. I think many here would appreciate seeing the process transition from a concept on the message board to shovels in the dirt to lead in the air!

Your presence here and insight are appreciated more than I can relay. That being said I will try to relay it by being as close to #1 in line as I can. Thank you!
