http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo222/judcargille/CopyofRFBcarbine-1.jpgI just HAPPENED to catch an RFB around the end of April on Gunbroker. Poor part time kid, just grabbed it up.....did a standard mark up calculation and LISTED that bad girl!
http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo222/judcargille/rfbinthesun.jpg
The RFB Carbine is sub-MOA I KNOW! Now, how many gentlemen in here have ever earned a blue cord? Would you want machinegun ammo to go into your RIFLE? What two rounds does NATO feild for 308? You can get special ball for sniping and several versions of machinegun ammo; ball, ap, api, ect. That is why I got 5K matchgrade rounds 4K Serbian 1K FGM....SIX MONTHS AGO!!!  YOU need to go buy a S-T-A-S-H..........be reloading..........they ARE coming after ammo and I would secure several thousand rounds of everything you shoot (I even did it for the barret) before I even bought the gun....because as backwards as that may seem, things are that bad! in the ammo worldhttp://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo222/judcargille/308Duo.jpg

for practice, go out and get a box of whatever for the best price, snap caps work very well for technique and will train muscle memory, 22 rifle, pellet gun. Hell, you can't justify reloading? THAT is going to be ONE ragged hole! not too costly once you are making the second round on the brass...I HAD to get into it when I went BMG and I like it alot!

So I'm guessing you didn't buy the BORS just for the RFB then?  At least I'm asuming that's what that is on the scope.

One on Gunsamerica right now for $10,000!

Wow, not only a complete ripoff, but his $8,800 rape attempt has grammer screwups too. You know, if I was going to fearmonger my way into getting some extra cash, I'd at least have the brains to check my spelling etc.. The worst part is, this jerkoff "runs a major gunstore", maybe BS, but I'd like to know which store so I can recommend others avoid it completely.

This jerk isn't only trying to rip off someone on the rifle but also on the 200. shipping.  Hope nobody buys it.

I'm not buying the rifle, but I'm starting to buy the story that we'll never see another shipment of RFB's.  I've been waiting for this rifle for 18 months, and I've had it paid for for the last 7 months.  One shipment of twenty rifles in February to make people think it's not vapor-ware was sufficient for me for a while, but it's been three months since then.  Even at twenty rifles a month the number of rifles 'in the wild' should have TRIPLED by now.  I haven't seen a rifle yet that wasn't in the first shipment.  Very very frustrating.

Not anymore the RFB on gunbroker is up to $3,500.00.

Wow.

I like it, but not that much.

Almost twice the asking price now. With only six bids and a whole nine days left on the auction.

Well....I just got number 50!!!!

Should I sell it on GB or try for here?  I could also do a FTF in NY here....

What do you all think....?

Sell while the market is high.

If someone is willing to pay $5k for it they want and deserve it more than I do.

In the mean time I'll but a DSA FAL with the difference and entertain myself with that as I get on another waiting list for a new RFB.

I spent a little time on the range with a supresed RFB at the NDIA show.  I was impressed.  It is a nice, handy, little rifle that puts LaRue sniper targets down with authority.  I will own one.

Supposedly the big delay now (after waiting months for final tweaks, CNC machines, and training a new line) is the availability of barrel blanks.

On KTOG, ktwm said they just got 300 more blanks in so look for the trickle of RFBs to pick up at least somewhat in the near future.

So, you put it up for sale on Gunbroker I see. Looks like you are going to make a tidy profit, even starting the rifle off at a more than reasonable 1250 it is over 2500 now. I think you made the right choice, once these get out in force I hope you will be able to get them sub 2k regularly.

Oh heck yeah, if I got ahold of an RFB for at or below MSRP I'd put that sucker up on gun broker so fast it would make your head spin.

Can't believe the prices people are paying for the RFB.

Be nice, if this wasn't a "limited production" rifle and Kel Tec actually had a commitment to mass produce the RFB.

They're claiming that they'll be pumping out 600/month once they get up to full production (which sounds like it means when they actually get 600 barrel blanks per month).

I'm waiting on that.

I mean I like the rifle, but no way am I going to be one of those guys that pays $3K for it on gunbroker.

IF the RFB had HK or FN stamped on the receiver, I think many people wouldn't bat an eye paying $3K or more for it!

I've never considered purchasing a Kel-Tec product until this carbine made the scene. It's everything that it's claimed to be & more; a synergistic totality. I've owned a couple of AWC's M1AG2 .308 Bullpups (discontinued) & this carbine has the AWC offering beat on all counts; it's  a much better platform. Taking into account that the last four G2s sold for $4400 ea about 10 years ago, it strikes me as quite the bargain.

I agree I don't own a single Kel-Tec firearm and had no intention of changing that until I saw the RFB. This rifle definitely appeals to people outside their normal fan club.

Same here, if I ever get a RFB it will be my first Kel-Tec.  On the other hand, if I ever get the H&K MR223 it will be 23rd H&K.

Stymie,

Can you give us a performance report on your new RFB (i.e. accuracy, ergonomics, max distance...)?  Is the muzzle blast deafening?

I've only had a chance to try the RFB with a Trijicon RX01NSN Reflex & FED .308m. Hitting pop cans @ 100m consistently was almost too easy. The 6x ACOG will be tested soon (I hope); I have family in the hospital at the present time.

Ergonomics are superb & the carbine, albeit a tad heavy, tracks like a laser. Recoil is nominal, but the muzzle blast is something you're not likely to forget. While you don't get any of the concussion/exhaust in your face, the sound signature demands something like a set of Peltor Tac 7s OR an AAC SCAR-H SD suppressor.

The question is, at $3860 retail for the .308  as opposed to $1280 for the RFB, is it going to be 3 times as accurate.......

It's a shame that this thread slipped to Page 7 due to Kel-tec not being able to deliver the RFB in meaningful numbers.  If they're not careful, Charles Daily will make Tavor rifles available in the market and the RFB market will dry up substantially!
