You should go as far as sorting cases by maker. weighing would not hurt either I missed the part about getting the rounds with the rifle. Follow the above guidelines, not worth the chance. |

I would take them apart and reuse for future loads.

Unless they came in a box with all of the loading data clearly marked, I would never fire them.
Pull the bullets and salvage the case, primer and bullet. |

Yeah, I'll just dismatle them. What's the safest, easiest way? Those plastic hammer gravity pullers or something else?

Get a Hornady collet puller and a .308 collet.
RCBS also make one, but I like the Hornady better. Hornady collet bullet puller 30 cal collet |

If I know the person that made the reloads and trust that person, I shoot them; otherwise, not a chance.

Like has already been stated several times, pull the bullets and reuse what you can! You have no idea how well the person that reloaded them followed procedures! Better safe then sorry!

To expand on my previous post, if the box the reloads are in comes with the following info;
Cartridge, bullet make and weight, case used, powder name and amount, primer name, expected velocity, date loaded. I consider that the minimum information a meticulous reloader would record. How I label my loads. So if that info was on the box of reloads I would shoot them. If that info is not there, I don't trust the reloads. I have never encountered that with the reloads that come with something else I'm buying at the funshow. So I always pull them down. |
