Looking for opinions on a rotary tumbler. Looking at the fart and the Lyman they are priced similar on Amazon.  Which is the better unit quality wise? I have a frankford vibratory and no complaints so far but looking to get into rifle reloading and want to step up the cleaning game.

Without a doubt the FART.  I love it and it makes short, easy work of cleaning brass.

I have the dual rock tumbler from harbor freight. It will process much smaller batches. There is an entire thread about it here.

If I could, Id have gotten the FART though.

I like my FART, never had any issues with it.  I don't have any experience with the Lyman.

Of the choices listed, I'd prefer the Thumlers Model B

The FART is the way to go.

I previously owned the Rebel Extreme 17 - the FART has a larger capacity, is easier to use, and is still going strong 20,000 cases later.

Wait for a sale - I scored mine from Amazon for $100 shipped.

Another vote for the FART. I bought mine when it first was announced, and I have no complaints. It was like $225 back then and I still feel like it was a fair deal. Even better at the $125-150 they go for now.

It took me a minute to figure out what a FART was .  Looks like a pretty slick tumbler.  I'm seriously considering getting one so I don't have to worry about the whole lead dust issue with my kids.

I got the lyman only because my brother got the fart and i like to be different.  The only complaint i have with the lyman is that 45 brass get hung up inside on both ends don't really know how to explain it but it is kind of a pita when you dump the container out and there is about ten cases wedged in there.

I just got the lyman last week.  So haven't run thousands and thousands through it yet.  but so far works great.  I do like timer on it so I know I wont  tumble some brass for 8 or 9 hours by forgetting about it.  Seems very solid to me.  The primary reason I went with the Lyman is Cabela's had it on sale for $155 or so, which allowed me to save a little money.  I had it in my house 2 days after I ordered it, the FART was about $188 if I recall correctly.

Have had the fart for about 3 months now. In that time have done over 30k in .223 brass though it. What I found was , using 10 lbs of pins and doing 8 lbs of brass for an 1:15 mins worked the best over all. This is were the built in timer really shines. It'll be interesting to see how long this thing last seeing this much use.

Well I got a FART for my birthday today. Through a small batch of .380 in and the packet of cleaner that came with it and they came out pretty darn clean after just 1.5 hrs.

Gotta get some lemishine so I can load it up with .223 to really give it a test.

Thanks again for all the advice happy so far!

You already got it, but my fart has been running strong for a year or more. Cleans brass and silencer baffles great.

If going with something about the size of a Thumbler, buy a Rebel from STM.  Better construction, motor and bearings.

If you need more capacity, building is the best way
