Anybody here ever loaded X-Treme Bullets 165gr plated RN 9mm bullet??
Seems like it'd be a good steel plate thumper for a 9mm pistol.

I am shooting them in my Smith 929 revo.  Very happy.

What load are you using behind it? Don't think I've ever seen published info for that heavy of a 9mm bullet.

I used starting data for the 147 as max for the 165.  I went down from there.  I loaded the bullets long and tweaked the OAL until I settled on a load.

3.0 gns of Titegroup showed pressure at 1.145.  My final load is under that.  Remember I have a 6.5 inch barrel and no slide to cycle.  Although when testing I used a Glock 17.  Blow that up, no biggie.  Buy a new one in 5 minutes.  Smoke a tuned revo, bad.

That would be an interesting subsonic load for running with a can....

I use their 124 grain....work very well......

Looking for data also.  I'll be restocking on 9mm projos soon and the 165s have my interest for suppressor use.

I've was interested in them but I've never actually seen them in stock until today

Hoser- did you chrono those loads? I'd be interested in how fast you can push them. I'm sure a revolver is where they really would work to their fullest potential.
Heck you'd make major at 1000fps

Guy I met who is sponsored by xtreme shoots the 165 in a semi auto CZ and glock.

He was using 2.6 or 2.8 grain of titegroup but I didn't ask the length.

He let me try a few and it was crazy soft shooting. My sights barely moved.

It is subsonic. At long range you can almost see the bullet traveling.

If someone wants his load data, I can ask next time I see him at the range.

Are a lot of you running plated through your suppressors? For some reason I thought people didn't do that.

If the suns right it is a certainty.  I could easily see my 147gr plated as long as the sun is at my back.

I used to regularly see bullets when I was ROing. Big uncoated silver 45's were the easiest to spot

I do it all the time.  No issues.  No issues full auto either.

Gas checked lead might be an issue, but I have yet to see a gas check come off any sooner than impact.

Good to know especially since Xtreme is local to me.

2.6 grains of titegroup at 1.140 OAL.   As always, work up and be safe. This was a very light, functional load though. So can't imagine it is anywhere near max load.

After dark,, use headlights to light up alley to berm on slight angle,, then shoot toward the berm...

Have done similar stunt at in-laws in WV,, bursts from 9mm M11 slowfire suppressed sends volley of visible bullets down range,,,  did similar stunt with 45acp lead bullets,, they moving slower, but stilll easy to see them big thingies..

I'm curious as to how much AA#7 it would take for this bullet.

I loaded some .45 a few years ago, first time with a new press/powder, used some "known" load data from online.  Turned out it was a real light load, wouldn't reliably cycle in my pistols with full-power springs, it was a load for match pistols with lighter weight springs.  Could EASILY watch the rounds go down range.

Interesting.  I don't reload 9mm, but I wonder if FM has plans to make these available in loaded ammunition.

Sorry, Freedom Munitions.  I believe X-Treme/Freedom are one and the same.

Got it.

I don't think I'd bother with it in a factory load. At 165gr it's probably best to tailor the loads to your specific purpose and gun
