I picked this up for my future build. ".260" with 142smk. It's not H4350 but it will do in these times..

some guys get all the luck. Nice score!

I'm thinking I'm gonna have to start working up other loads with IRM or Accurate Arms because I can't get any Hodgdon locally.

We live on the Yukon, 200 miles up the Taylor (end of the dirt road); road usually open from April to September.  So we always make the run down to Tok, Ak for supplies and guns I have mailed in to LGS over the winter.  Only gun shop in town, but she's a good one, I get 3.5X35 acogs for $1000, guns 100 dollars over cost, and when I was down last Saturday, they had 8208 XBR for 23 bucks a lb.  Now here in ALaska, everybody wants 32 bucks a lb for any powder. So that was decent enough of the guys at the Bullshooter.  Gun shops in Anch wan even more than $32.  Only powder I need at all is TAC, but I'll be sure to spend my bucks at the LGS in Tok.

H4350 collects dust on the shelf of my LGS. I doubt anyone knows what it is. I don't.

Plus they probably had a few more in backstock. For example, in the photo above you can see 3# of W231 on the shelf but they had 28# total.

Funny you should mention a .260 build. Louisiana Precision Rifles is nearby and a lot of guys have been getting .260s built. Roscoe of Louisiana Precision Rifles seems to be well know on Sniper's Hide and people wait quite a while on him to build a rifle.

No it's not.

Get down to the Ozarks, the dogwoods will be blooming and the suckers are shoaling in the creeks.

Most of northern Missouri ain't much to admire, however.

I'm a transplant , real trees have needles , snows kept to the mountians and these are in your back yard
but the reloading supplies are sparse

Yes, I do reload. I reload several calibers but .260 is not one of them. I have reloaded .308 in the past but I sold my .308 during the panic. I am looking to buy another .308 sometime in the near future. I still have a few hundred SMKs in different weights. I did, however, just sell an 8 lb jug of Varget to a guy who needed it.

I was just wondering if the H4350 was a magic powder that I would regret not buying.

some 30-06 rifles really like 4350 also... mine doesn't happen to be one of them (it was ok, but not great). unfortunately I'm on the hunt for some w760 (I see h414 on the shelf there, same thing), which it does like. I do think I have a lead on some though....

That looks like my LGS....if you took everything off the shelves and left the 50 BMG powder.

Well, in defense of my LGS, they did have some H335 and Unique. I've got a big run of .223 and .40 planned so I needed some supplies.

This store happens to be a pawn shop. Around here, almost nothing sells for the price on the sticker. People look at it as an "asking price." You simply have to ask for a deal and they will gladly give you a discount. They have bench rest primers in stock, as well.

I have and I bought 1# and then I found about 3/4# in a cabinet in the garage and another partial in another building but this one was Hercules with the cardboard container.  I was surprised that the Hercules was still good as I used 8 gr for a 223 blank round for launching golf balls.  The price tag on the Hercules labeled Unique was gone but the other jug had a Cabelas price tag at $15.99

I have an old cardboard bottle of unique that I traded a buddy out of.  The price tag reads $4.95.
