I worked half a day, so to reward myself, I ordered a bunch of stuff from NOE. No molds, just sizing dies and accessories. I’m pleased.

Ran out of Large Rifle Magnum primers - 4 short to finish off the processed brass - duh! I don't use the magnum primers much, so I only keep a few on hand at a time.
Looking online for a fun show in the area - otherwise I'll have to hit my favorite out of town reloading store while I'm on vacation next week....... |

I cast 500 or so 148gr .358 DEWC...it's the Lee mold with a bunch of tumble lube grooves, so I always think of making hundreds of little soup cans,

Loaded some test rounds of 6.5 Swede, 8mm Mauser, and 7.7 Jap. Tried BL-C(2) in the 7.7 and it was a pretty stout recoil so decided to try H4831SC this time. Also loaded 300 rounds of 9mm plinking ammo. Several years ago I bought a bunch of the pulled mixed weight 9mm bullets from American Reloading and am only now getting around to sorting them and loading them up. They shoot ok out of my Springfield XD, but my G19 didn't like them. Going to try them out of a 9mm PCC and a Beretta 92 next time.

Grabbed these from Cabelas last night.
$16.99 a box. Gonna try some IMR 4320, Winchester SRP, lake City brass and work up some loads. Attached File |

Shooting .22 pistols at the range this morning and none of the other shooters had any interest in their brass. Since all were happy for me to sweep it all up, I was able to grab about 200 pistol cases (mixed 9mm and .45), plus about 100 .223 cases. I love free brass.

Made some test loads. I might shoot them tomorrow night weather permitting to see how they do.
Left to right 68 gr HPBT 23-23.5-24 imr 4320 2.25coal 75gr HPBT 22.5-23-23.5 imr 4320 2.25 coal Went a bit extreme. Used my hornady digital scale and I weighed my brass and sorted into groups of 5. Weighed the boolits and sorted them into groups as well. None of the 68 grain boolits weighed 68 grains! They were all 70.xx. The 75s were all 77.xx. I still used the load data for 68 and 75 grain loads. Attached File |

I went to Cabela’s in Buda today, only to find that they had been cleaned out (almost literally) of primers. They didn’t have the few tools I was looking for either. They DID have a Daisy inflatable air rifle range, about 87,000 toddlers with pop guns (all popping at once, of course), and plenty of folks wandering in the reloading section that should have bathed today... I was disappointed.
But this evening I went to a local Academy and bought a copy of the Speer #14 manual and a Hornady LnL Wrench, both on “clearance” for a savings of about $10 total. I felt better. |

Made up some ladder loads for my 308. Mostly to double check my loads now and see if FC and LC cases matter. Out of the 3 powders, xbr 4064 and varget, they all had the same case capacity... but I still dropped the powder in the LC by 2 hrs. The biggest difference in case capacity I observed was with the brand (cbc). If for varget the cases held 52gs....the CBC case was 49.8-50.0. The Winchester 308 and pierce brands were 51-51.2 hrs.
Then I Ran some errands today and stop by cabelas. Picked up a 9mm bullet feeder die. Gonna order a bully, pistol (9mm) and rifle (223), feeder later this evening. Was hoping they had some 224 Valkyrie stuff, dies, bullets, ect. They had nothing :( |

Deprimed and wet tumbled approx 250 cases of 8mm mauser and 7.62x54r.

Completed just under 150 .38 Special loads to finish off the last box of Xtreme plated 158 gr SWC I had in the stockpile.
I have just over 500 of these loaded, so basically I've been able to produce them about twice as fast as I shoot them |

Finished off my (hopefully) final charge ladder of CFE 223 with 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. My previous charge ladder showed less than 1" groups for 3 shot strings at 43.5, 44 and 44.5 gr. I made up 4 round groups at each of these charge weights to verify accuracy (#4 is in case I cause a flyer). If all three shoot fine, then I'll go with 44 and call this hunting load development done.

Tore down my entire work space and re working it.

I cleaned up my LnL press and started setting it up for a 9mm run. I cleaned the dies too, and noticed that the “RN” seater punch isn’t even vaguely a close fit for any of the bullets I have (particularly Zero and GI 124 gr bullets). Oh well, I guess it’ll still seat the bullets...
I also cleaned up my work space some. I have this thing called “organization,” but it’s not a terribly organized organization. Gotta work on where to stow stuff for a better fit and less clutter. |

Oh yeah ... reloading ... old timer at my table asked me if I reloaded. He’s calling me next week to pick up a bunch of reloading supplies he no longer needs. Plus he’s got a bunch of factory ammo he wants to get rid of. One of the best days I’ve had in a very long time. |

Lee Classic Turret is now set up for .45 ACP.
Purchased used dies here on the EE. Disassembled, cleaned then installed dies in a spare turret. Dialed in the die setup and siuccessfully made s couple dummy cartridges, which feed and extract without issue in my 1911. Next to work up some charge ladders for 230 gr Berry’s with Win 231. |

I enjoyed seeing a long term project completed and tested. I developed a load for my Glock 24 that is softer than anything I shoot in my 17L.
I have read for years, you can load .40 minor softer than 9mm. Today I got to test and see. Recoil and recovery time were much better with the 24 vs the 17L. The 180 SNS flat points smack the plates and still feel softer than 147's in 9mm. |

Finished up the 500+ 223 pulls, with the help of my 3yo grandson. Slowed me down a bunch, but he had fun. He’s learning his numbers, so when we weighed all of the bullets, he got to put them on the scale and then into the correct container...

Picked up my case feeder for the x650. Also picked up the small pistol and rifle shell plated as well as the quick caliber change kit for 5.56.
Ordered my socal s&w pistol and bullet feeder about a week ago, was hoping I'd have it by now...atleast a shipping confirmation. But nothing yet :( |

My son and I hit the range and made empty brass. Not as much as we wanted to though. It was already way too hot by the time we called it quits. At 1030 it was already over 90, and no such thing as “usable shade” on the range at that time of day.
