What would you recommend?  Maybe 10?  I'm new at this so any advice is appreciated.  I didn't want to make too many and then have to spend time pulling bullets.

Been trying to problem solve loading 163 AP projectiles into .308 brass and getting the right velocity that would get it to zip through a half inch steel plate at 100 yards and being able to still group decently. Case capacity is what I should be going after first I think, and a way to do it safely.

Hmm, quite a bit now that I think about it

• Saw the primer deal ($22/k on SPP) that Wideners was having, so spent some time calculating the investment.  In the end, I passed as I would have had to purchase >20K primers for it to make sense for  me.
• Worked up some powder charge ladders (135RN and 147FP) for the Ba 9.5 powder that I have, to see if this powder would be a good complement to VV N320
• Currently in the process of re-tumbling some brass that I f'-uped a few weeks ago, do some searching on this forum if you want pictures and details of the mess
• Shared some pics of the powders (N320, Prima V & Ba 9.5) that I've been testing the past month or so.

Made another 7/8-14 die body blank from Stress-proof for a new wildcat I'm playing with.

The final sizing die is done except for adding a decapping pin. BUT it appears that it is just a bit too much to ask to form the case in a single operation so the die I was making will be a preform die.

Purchased a bullet comparator and seating depth gauge from Sinclair.  I have been reloading for ten years or so and am hoping this will help me move from half inch groups to quarter inch groups.

Well, I finally started on my 11.3 Beaumont reloading project. I deprimed 10 cases by hand, using a mallet and decapping pin. I sized the necks using a 45 Long Colt die, and went to flare the case mouths on my 45 ACP expander die. It did not fit. So, I had to get creative. I used that same mallet, and pounded a steel 7.62x54r case down into the 11.3 mouth.

Finished up by charging with 25 grains Accurate 5744, and capped it all with a Missouri Bullet Company .458 405 grain cast bullet. I will shoot them tomorrow, and report back with my findings.

Setup the PW 1200 and let it decap about 2K 223 for me :).  Tricky little sucker to get setup just right though.  Not quite there yet but good enough for decapping... for loading I will need to tweak a bit further I think.  But I've got plenty of decapping to take care of first.

I never got Mine to the point that I was comfortable letting it load. Maybe the clutch plastic plates were worn, I dunno. Talked to Bruce several times, You might call him, really nice guy.

I de-capped a metric poop ton with it though. Then I sold it.

Today I got My CTK P3 gun vice. Finally broke down and bought one, that cheap plastic piece of crap is going on the EE.

With the way My hands are, trying to get the rifle perfectly set level, the holding it there while I fumble around trying to set my scope the way I wanted, this seems to make the most sense.

By the time I got it put together, had had enough. I'll try it out tomorrow.

Last weekend I took the powder drop camera and monitor off my progressive press.  My wife was going out of town to visit her sister, so I figured I'd have plenty of opportunity during the week to do some tweaks, paint the bracket for the monitor, and so on.

Work had different ideas, and I wound up busting my asterisk for a measly 1:45 of overtime.  I also had to put together a training session (which sucked up one lunch hour just to present) in my off time.  That left me with zero time or energy to do anything related to loading...except to check out ARFCOM a few times.

Today, my wife is home, we're going to keep things light and easy, and maybe I'll get started on cleaning up and painting that bracket.  I also received the drill adapter for my old-school RCBS case trimmer, and I want to give it a whirl.

Wish me luck!

Working in the garage this morning I came across a box of clean, previously wet tumbled 7.62 I had forgotten about. I stopped what I was working on and promptly annealed this batch of brass. Most were FC 62 and FC 63 headstamp.

Now they are next to the Rock Chucker for sizing and trimming later today or tomorrow.

Finished up all the 223 and ran it all though the FART as well, so got a couple of these ready to go.  Why I rushed to do it I really don't know I have 4k loaded already lol...  But do want to start working up some 77gr loads for the MK12.

Well, I tested out the Beaumont rounds that I loaded last night. 7 out of 10 fired, the other 3 failed to ignite the primer. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I will try again with Federal primers, which are supposedly a little softer. We'll see.

Easily in my top 3 favorite cartridges of all time so far... You will like it.

Cleaned up the bench, figured out my Lyman 45-60WCF "M" die for the 458 SOCOM. It's almost all the way wound down but it works. I could probably knock a couple thousands off the bottom of the die to give myself some breathing room but it's good enough.

Went ahead and sized 100 pieces of brass without the neck expander, I will load them up with station 1 being neck expanding on the 550C. Can't wait for it to get here. Tumbled them to a nice shine too.

Come to think of it, I guess I can bell on the powder drop so I don't need to adjust the M die all the way down...

Also messed with 7 Mag a bit. Definitely loving the fact that I cannot possibly run out of magazine length. The insanely long VLD hunting bullets are still a good way away from mag length when seated out to the lands.

No hard count yet but maybe, 500 38spl cases, 250 .223rem cases, 500 moly coated 22cal bullets, 5-7 bullet molds w/ handles, and two bottles of "grease"

Test firing ran great with a copied test load by Tromix of 300gr Noslers behind H110. Also loaded up a ladder of the 300gr ttsx Barnes bullets. Thing packs a punch and makes big holes. Very impressive round.

All SHINY and NEW.......... Where's the other one?

Resized the batch of 7.62 I annealed yesterday, then trimmed to length.  That batch is now dry tumbling to clean off lube.

As I was sizing this batch it dawned on me that this was brass I had reclaimed from previously reloaded ammo, unknown who reloaded it.  Then I noticed that at least five of the cases were head stamped FA40, that took a minute to sink in.  Guessing whoever loaded this ammo made their own 7.62/.308 brass from WWII .30-06 brass.  I think I'll keep those segregated when load just because.

Using it on a 1050?

I'm thinking about getting a MK 7 for my 650.

I ordered 6,000 55gr Hornady bullets for $395 shipped. Still need to run through about 10,000 pieces of brass. My 10,000 small rifle primers have been on back order for almost a year now.

Ran out of Small pistol Magnum primers so I loaded up 11 357 mag rounds with small rifle primers to see how they do. If they do good, I won't buy SPM primers anymore.

Busy weekend for me. I worked on my Beaumont project, and my Swedish blank project, which are described in more detail elsewhere. I also tracked down all the brass in the house for my oddball calibers, like 7mm Mauser, 6.5 Mauser, and 30-40 Krag. I sized, cleaned, and primed them. I started sorting reloading supplies into ammo cans for better organization.

Did a test run of 45ACP though the automagted decapping process - worked fine but not sure if worth the trouble for range fodder - was pre-decapping to run through FART, but seems like most are leaving primers in for wet tumbling pistol/strait wall and tumbing without pins, getting outside shiney but leaving inside with some build up so the brass doesn't stick to the powder drops...

Shot a box of Winchester 7mm Rem Mag through the new X-Bolt yesterday. Shot pretty horribly. My buddy had his magnetospeed out and the deviation was 100+ FPS. Wow... I was just making brass anyway.

Loaded up a ladder of 150 Accubond LR's from 68.5 to 70.5 gr. of H1000 at 3.42" COAL and shot them this morning. The hotter the better.

Reloaded them again after that at 71.5 gr. and 3.430 COAL which is about .003 off the lands.

Shot one 1 1/8" and one 1 1/4" ish group at 200 yards off a bipod and rear bag prone. I'm happy. May pursue more development but I know it shoots what may be the premier long range hunting bullet well, and likes them FAST!

Need to check velocities so I can build a dope chart some time.
