Re sized a few test cases for my .30-40 Krag.
I set up my dies and worked on three Remington once fired brass cases, two FL re-sized and the other just neck sized.  Will be using a Hornady .308 220 grain RN and 38 grs of IMR 4350 to start out with.

Loaded  up 100 .223 to test with my new LaRue trigger.

77 gr. Nosler CC
24.2 gr. CFE223
IMI brass
CCI primers
COL 2.26

I also  uniformed  the primer pockets. Brass was trimmed to 1.749.

Very relaxing work while sipping on some 12 year old Glenlivet.

Mixed up a batch of homebrew case lube and naturally had to try it out.

Resized 100 223 cases and then fully prepped them.  Worked great.

Used a 12 to 1 ratio of Iso Heet to Lanolin.

I use the same mix.  Makes reloading 9mm in the 650 soooooo much smoother.

You don't use carbide dies for that? Never had an issue without lube for both .45 ACP and 9x19.

While you can surely get away with no lube using carbide dies I highly recommend it.  Really smooths things out and takes some of the wear off my shoulder in longer sessions.

I just one light mist for several hundred 9mms.

+1,000 for this.  Overused shoulders and backs really don't like even the modest resistance you get with carbide sizing lightly expanded cases.  Lubing those pistol cases makes it more of a movement than an exercise.  Run a few hundred through your press with and without, and you'll certainly notice the difference.

I've never had any issue using non lubed 9x19 or .45 cases. No pressure on my arms or back and I have back problems too. I don't even feel any resistance at all and I am using Lee dies at that.

More power to you, but I'll keep lubing everything.  As an occupational therapist, I kinda specialize in shoulders, and if yours are happy, keep using them!  Mine have had more than a little abuse along the trail, so I do what I can to keep them from being more angry at me than they need to be; lubing my pistol brass is one of the things that helps with that.

Another caliber load development completed.

I hate this part more than reaming primer pockets.

Shot my final 30-06 work up loads today in my M1 and found the IMR-8208XBR load to stick with.

Now off to large production runs to fill some ammo cans.

Ran some of my latest batch of what was supposed to be match ammo off the ransom rest.  Obviously something has changed dramatically because this batch is now relegated to practice duty.  This batch was barely holding 10 ring from the ransom at 50 yards.  It'll be great for 25 and in but definitely not for the 50 or a match.

The only change in the recipe I can pull off the top of my head is the primer.  Couldn't get my hands on any Federal Gold Match so went with the standard Federal primer.  Can't see just the primer making an x-ring group into a 10 ring group.

Hmmm..maybe my barrel is starting to wear. I'll have to try with my back-up match gun as my main gun has at least 500K rounds through it.

Ordered 600 of the blem 77gr Nosler CC with cannelure from shooters pro shop. Hopefully the cannelure doesn't affect accuracy too much. Also going to pick up some H335 and IMR 8208 xbr tomorrow, as well as 1k 55gr bullets.

In the process of tumbling 1k 223 brass. Time to replenish my very weak looking 223 stash.

PV had it along with TG.  I picked up 8# of Clays and 16# of TG.

Clays is sold out TG still in stock.

I picked up the Clays on whim.  Seems it doesn't play well with 9mm although it seems a few swear by it.  Oh well it will make good trade fodder.

Clays is one of the most fantastic low recoiling 45ACP loads on earth!    You will have no problems bartering with Clays for other powders.

I was so desperate for Clays a couple years back I actually paid a dude on Armslist 40 bucks a pound for 2 pounds.
