Looked over my dad's two Dillon 550Bs.  Asked a lot of questions.  I can't wait to start reloading.  Just need the time to devote to it first.  Hard with two little kids...

I finally ordered my tumbler today.  It's the last thing I need to really get going with my reloading.  I've been slowly acquiring tools over time, now I can start buying more components.

Took advantage of Brownells free shipping because free shipping almost anywhere is my kryptonite

Ordered 100 Hornady 55 FMJ's just because.

A friend gave me a Lowes 5 gallon bucket that is 3/4's full of brass. I have a lot of work to do this month.

Yesterday evening I ordered a Forster Ultra Micrometer Seater in .308 Win.  Taking advantage of Midway's birthday pricing saved me some money, but the discount got me off the stick to actually order it.  I got shipping advice today and the package should be here on Saturday.  YAY!

Took advantage of Brownell's no hazmat fee/free shipping and $20 off and ordered a bunch of primers and powder.

Since lunch yesterday I sorted around 2,500 cases (9, 40, 45, and a few 223). There were about 250 38 Spcl cases that I don't need but I kept them anyway.

Tumbled 385 - 45 ACP and 471 - 40 cal.

The replacement priming arm for my Rock Chucker came in today, so I will probably finish priming some of my .38 SPL brass once I get off shift.

Mostly on/off throughout the week...been loading more 9mm plus I loaded up a batch of 300BLK on the Rock Chucker.

Just a few minutes ago I was loading some more 9mm, almost done with the majority of this year's match ammo, when the 650 started feeling "clunky". I gave the machine a quick once over trying to see if anything was loose or out of place but everything seemed GTG.  Of the 5 pieces in the shell plate, one was a little tight in the slot, I figured maybe a grain of powder or walnut was in the case slot and since it would be at a point I could clean out the slot in 3 rounds I'll run it for three more pulls. On two pulls that shell position was at the priming station and upon trying to prime the case rim ripped and the case popped out of the shell plate. Closer inspection of the shell plate shows the shell plate is broken at about the 3 o'clock position (might have been broken when getting clunky or might have been bent - couldn't see the 3 o'clock when that spot was at the crimp station).

I have loaded 50K+ 9mm so maybe the plate is just wore out.  I'll be contacting Dillon though. Not sure if I'll call or just swing by on my next trip to my AZ outpost.

It's my birthday week too, and I am trying to decide what to get from Midway!! Not directly related to reloading, but I transferred all my reloading data over to my new computer and backed it up today.

Just got done sorting my last 25 gallons of brass.

5 gallons of 9mm

5 gallons of .45

10 gallons of 223

5 gallons of a little bit of everything else.

I think I might be done picking up brass for a while.

Loaded 120 rounds of 260 rem and decapped and tumbled 600 300 blk cases.

This weekend I'm going to organize and add a few more feet on to my reloading bench.

Still trying to sort through a full 5 gallon bucket of brass. Much fun

My 500 147 arrived from RMR. Need to pick up some primers so I can get started on that too.

I have been cleaning 9mm brass and cranking out 147gr rn plated rounds almost every day.  When I have spare minutes, I just pull that blue handle.

I plan to empty some .223 cases Saturday sighting in a couple new target rifle builds.  One barrel better shoot much tighter than the other or I am gonna be a bit upset.

Now the .45ACP is getting a bit low.  I started cleaning some of that brass too.

I plan to prep some more .223 cases for weekend loading.

My quick-n-ez tumbler showed up today so I put that together and tumbled 100 RDS of .223.  While I was waiting for that to tumble, I put the new priming arm on my rock chucker and primed 80 RDS of .38 brass.

Got a C.E. ProChrono and Bluetooth adapter, so I don't have to guess at what my reloads are doing anymore.

I have a feeling this will be one of those things that will have me wondering how I ever reloaded and shot without one.

klunked tested with the Dillon 9mm gage some 9mm.  Found a few rounds with high primers and reseated them.  Found a 9mm round with split case (it didn't go klunk) so I pulled it to salvage the bullet, powder, and primer.

Filled 10 primer tubes with SP primers

When filling the case feeder with 9mm brass I use the above shell sorter plate with the 380 metal plate to get any remaining 380's out of the 9mm brass stream.  Found one.  And just before dumping into the feeder I eyeball the cases.  Paid off again and yanked out a 38 super case before it hit the feeder.

loaded another 300 rds of 9mm.

Checking every round with a case gage pays off.  Found:

- 2 rounds with a high primer which I fixed on the spot
- 1 round with a split case which I culled
- no less than 4 rds of 9x18 MAK, very noticeable, it sunk rather deep in the gage

After driving myself crazy about which press to buy since I'm getting into precision shooting but also wanna load for my pistols and other rifles I figured finally made my mind up and ordered a Forster Coax and a Lee turret in hope they will suit my needs.

Sized and deprimed about 400 mixed military brass. Going to cut the crimp and trim them today.

Also loaded up some 9mm. My load of 3.9gr titegroup under 124gr rmr plated wasn't ejecting and jamming my glocks. Bumped it up to 4.2gr and was able to try them out. Felt much better and ran 100%. Probably going to load up some more today.

Been busy sorting through my .223 and 5.56 brass by head stamps. I'm giving a good friend 2,000 of them but he's being picky at free brass by wanting only certain head stamps

I should have just sold it off and not offer anything

You must really like that friend. He should sort them himself. Anyway. I finally finished the file transfer of my load data. My computer build is taking  longer than it should.

Either it wouldn't go bang because seats too deep in the bbl or if held in place by the extractor then nothing disasterous.  I shot a 40SW accidentally in a 45ACP once.  Except for the case being shorter the 9mmMAK would have the same load as the 9mm it was found with

focused on 223 today

Finished what was left of 1000 prepped and primed cases from Top Brass then set up the priming system on the 550B for small rifle primers  Loaded about 600 cases that were prepped so went fast:  just had to prime, drop powder, seat and crimp bullet

Same friend I'm gifting brass to just called to, called to tell me that he ordered a 1,000 147 for me to say thanks for my time and effort while sorting out by head stamp his .223 and 5.56 brass.

Great, now I kinda feel bad for my earlier bitch post

Gifted a local arfcomer a bag stuffed with 10mm cases so he can get a head start on ammo for when he eventually buys a G20. Gifted a neighbor thats hooked me up with brass before a few hundred 7.62 NATO brass, and several hundred .45 ACP cases too.

I got my Forster seating die yesterday, but I haven't unpacked it yet - too busy with other stuff.

This evening I spent a couple hours getting the (small) enclosure for my press video system ready to install parts in.  I should be able to put it together within a couple of hours (+2/-0 - I don't always estimate time very well), once I get the time.

With the video system done, I'll be able to get the progressive press going again, and I'll run my (ready to go) batch of 148 grain .38 Special wadcutters.  After that, hopefully my Tokarev bullets will be in and I'll work on loads for that.
