No, you need to learn to look at a decapped case and be able to see the crimp.
I believe there are pics up in FAQ's.

a sort of rule of thumb is that ammunition sold as 223 will not have a crimp and ammunition sold as 556 will. that's not an absolute rule but 556 ammo is generally for the military and thus a primer crimp is required. 223 ammo is generally civilian and therefor no crimp is required.
It's fairly easy to see a crimp and should be part of your initial case inspection. I have found many cases with crimps don't even need the crimp removed you can still seat a primer with a little finesse. |

I have found that anything with a NATO headstamp (circle with cross in it) is crimped, even Winchester has it.
