My BCM Middy seems to love it with 77gr nosler's
Seems to group much better than varget with 75gr hornady's
Measures MUCH better too. I need to do more testing though.
Buy a lb and see how it works.
Charge weight for the 75gr BTHP?
25.2gr, RP case, rem7 1/2
Velocity #'s?
No clue, haven't bought a chronograph yet. It's on my Christmas list
In the chronograph thread this is a good example, if the 8208 load is just as accurate as the Varget load but 200 FPS slower I'm sticking with the varget load, you need a chrono to find out this info.
I will test this load out and see what it does for me accuracy and velocity wise, all components will be the same for the test, what COAL did you use? 2.255", 2.260" just so it will be as close to exact as possible?
Im providing this under the assumption that you will work up to this load or already have at some point.
With that being said, COAL was I set the longest to 2.260" (mag length), there was a thread I created a while back about this. I dont have my book in front of me, but most ended up being 2.25-2.24 IIRC
Brass was trimmed to the trim to length in the Lyman book and deburred.
At that point, for me, im starting to see faint ejector/extractor marks on my brass, but it seems to be the most accurate load.
I need to get a chronograph, any cheaper ones that will do a decent job? I was looking at some on midway earlier.
I loaded up some 8208 under some hornady 52gr BTHPs which i have yet to test.
If it works great, ill buy a 8# container of it.
