Stopped by Dunham's today & they still had several thousand. Picked up 2k for $187 out the door. They are in a glass cabinet, fairly hard to see.

My thread was locked, so I guess this goes here. I'm looking for some 240gr .44 magnum bullets that can be pushed fast. Just got a 6 inch revolver and will be purchasing a 20 inch lever action in the future. I want an economical bullet that gives decent accuracy. I use Zero 158gr in my .357, but can't find any of their .44 bullets. Would a hi-tek coated bullet from a place like Missouri Bullets handle the higher speeds coming out of a rifle without leading? Any other suggestions?

I bought them for cheap plinking ammo in my desert eagle. https://www.xtremebullets.com/44-240-RNFP-Heavy-Plate-p/xc44-240fphpcb-b0500.htm They state not to exceed 1500 fps, which in the 6 inch revolver should not be hard. In the 20 inch lever gun you can exceed that by a couple hundred fps. You might try some and slowly work up to full power in the lever and look for signs of issues. https://www.xtremebullets.com/Bullet-Load-Info-s/1952.htm |

Try starting another 7.62X39 help getting started thread but be very careful to avoid component where to find. If I stray too far here dryflash may snip my post(s) here. |

Can a mod edit the title of this thread to make it clear you can ask for where to find things?
Currently it says "Where to Find /Tools, Components, Promo Codes Go Here. NO QUESTIONS or off topic comments." So I assumed "NO QUESTIONS" meant this is only a thread for posting things you know are available, not asking questions about where to find things. But whenever someone posts a thread asking where to find things, he is directed to this thread and his original thread is locked. Thanks! |

This thread is for asking where to find components, so the forum is not filled up with threads asking that question.
The no questions part is for questions concerning loads and other reloading questions. So what happened today is OP asked "where to find" brass, then continued on with other questions. Don't do both in a post. I tried to save that thread and the find it here posts continued after I warned that thread. So thread was locked. The very top of the forum has a tacked thread that is titled "Before posting in this forum read this post." Nobody does and threads get locked. No more questions in this thread unless it's a "where to find" question. |

Taking the RCBS MSRP for the dies ($79.95 for .45 ACP) and shell holder ($8.45), you get a brick of primers for about $100, including shipping (2 separate shipments) and HazMat. Let's assume a $25 HazMat fee, and (generously) a $10 fee for each shipment. That makes the brick of primers cost $55. It's a heck of a deal. |

Has anyone seen any decent hollowpoints that will do well in 38 special anywhere? All I can find are XTPs, and they don't. |
