Just finished my new bench earlier this week; worst part had to be finishing the top surface...3 coats of polyurethane sure doe look good though . Didn't get a picture of the before setup, but trust me, new bench is SOOOO much better . Big shout out to GWhis for his awesome plans/ instructions for this bench, the thing is absolutely rock solid as far as I can tell. Next on the agenda is figuring out how to get a little extra lighting going on. .

ETA: sorry for the cruddy picture

As an aside: yes, that's an old stove next to the bench .

Special thanks to GWhis for the table design.

Can you tell I'm a beginner?

2"x 10" frame and 3 layers of 3/4 plywood. Frame is tap conned to the wall on 2 sides

You could jump on the press handles and the table wouldn't move at all

Eventually when I'm sure everything is where I want it I'll remove the top layer of ply and replaced it with MDF and glue down formica

I just got into reloading around a month ago haven't even mounted my press yet lol. Just finished up the bench I think haven't decided wether to stain the lower wood pieces or not. As soon as the stain drys I'm mounting all my gear up and off to reloading. The bench isn't the best but it'll work for now. Top is stained with 2in1 olde maple with poly and is 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood with a 3/4"  piece of burch wood, shelves are 1x8 burch wood and has 4x4 legs. I added a little baseboard around the top to hide the layers. Turned out ok I guess. I should've stained before completing the build but decided to stain after the fact.

I made this bench out of Shop Maple and A-1 Maple.  Trimmed the top with Maple hardwood, and finished with a poly coating on top.  I tried my best to match the Dillon blue at Home Depot.  Cool Cobalt is closest.  5 casters on the bottom.  The bench has 3 pieces of 3/4 A-1 Maple for the top.  Extremely sturdy.  Topped with 2 650s and a 1050 with Craig Forcht's rotary drive.

It gets the job done.

Edit: Sorry for the crappy pictures, dirty bench and unorganized garage

I'm thinking of redoing my reloading table and having a trap door for storage within the depth of the 2x4 under the top.

This is what I was thinking about (sorry I couldn't get it to link directly you'll need to copy and paste) anywho I would place this on probably the left end of the table and wouldn't be as long. I'm also thinking of the inside being a drawer that would move left and right which would give me more space without a bigger door but may have to move it towards the center of the table for this to work. I don't want to put drawers that pull out as it would not work with the dimensions I have in mind for height and storage under the table. Still thinking on it.

I finally made the switch from a Pro 1000 for loading pistol ammo to the LNL AP.  With all of the extra parts to keep track of for the LNL I decided to pick up a tool box from Sams Club to go with the work bench.  It really helps to keep the shell plates, dies, case feeder plates and all of my tools and case prep stuff organized.

I've had the bench for a couple of years now, it works great.  I have it lag bolted to the studs in the wall so it's pretty solid.  When I got the LNL I made a strong mount type base at work from 3/16" mild steel plate, it really helps to have the press up 7" or so.  I can see in the cases perfectly to check for powder before I set a bullet on top.

Finished my bench a couple weeks ago.  Started with this from Home depot Tool Box  Used a Lowe's 10% movers coupon to knock the price down a bit.  Built the top myself and lag bolted top from underneath and then lag bolts to attach to the wall.  Very solid and plenty of storage for supplies.

Just browsed this entire thread looking for ideas for building a new bench.  Yes, it is currently an atrocity and the bench top is no where near strong enough, but I just got permission for taking a corner of the garage and making a hobby/reload room.  Any suggestions, at first glance I think i can probably take a 10x17 foot piece of the garage which should be plenty.

This with a turret press would be great to take to the range for on site load development. Put all your components and other tools in the box and off you go.

I've been trying to make do with a set of plastic parts boxes to hold my loading (and gun) tools, but your picture gives me a strong urge to get a real tool box and stick it on my wire shelves so I can get at everything more easily.  What toolbox is that?

I like the lee turret... someday I will step into the expensive blue kool aid, but for now the red turret works well for my needs... its not a bad press and gets a lot of bad raps.  It was my first press that I could afford over a single stage and...thousands of rounds later, it allows me to load 10 calibers effectively in a decent time frame.

Glad it's worked out well for you. I certainly understand the affordability aspect.

No freeloading in a pic thread:

It's a little warm in there right now, so not a lot of time spent pulling levers this time of year. I need to get a dehumidifier or something going on in there for sure.

It's a steel bench from Sam's club.  Has steel drawers with roller slides and SS fronts.  Thick butcher block top.  The boss bought it for a shop tool box, but it didn't lock and they reorganized the shop and everyone ended up with something.  Its on wheels, but it fairly heavy.  I used a shelf from a wooden workbench to mount on it and built a foot for it in the center so it didn't wobble any.  (because it was on wheels, it shook a little).  I think it was between 3 and 400 bucks at same club.  Drawers hold a decent amount of weight and the center is big enough for all the bulk storage of ammo cans, coffee cans, etc.

DISGUSTING !! all those "sterile" photos of reloading benches, they do not look as if they are ever used, kinda like museum displays, just kidding guys, you all done good, if you saw my RL bench you would think it was hit by a class four tornado hit it.

under my bench is "about" 6, one gallon plastic containers full of once fired 5.56Mmm NATO brass, two full of O.F. Federal, two full of O.F. Remington brass and four full of different O.F. head stamped brass, then there is, once more "about" 15 of those dog treat containers you will find at COSTCO full of thrice fired brass, 4X fired, 6X fired, 10X fired and lastly 15X+ fired brass, on top, if one can call it that is my 40+ year old RCBS Rock Chucker, a Dillon XL650 with all the possible accessories, some are home made, the Lee factory crimper is greatly modified, a H.M. powder check die, a small 4" vise, assorted bins and drawers full of "stuff".

i would like to show you photos as it is now, but my photo posting abilities is "0", ahhhh ! you should see my "play shop", both my shop and R.L. room are the results of 60+ years of accumulating "STUFF" it is truly amazing.

After drooling over some of your benches, I decided to build one of my own this past weekend.

Here is the finished product. Nothing really fancy but it works for me. I'm debating a XL 650 to set on top but I think for now its a great place to clean and build my ARs. I still need to clean up the wiring and will maybe add a pegboard.

I'm making progress on re-working my bench.

I glued down a fresh sheet of plywood on top - just 1/4" lauan - to give me a clean, smooth surface.  The perf-board is about where it'll wind up in the final version, but the blank plywood space above the bench will be filled with storage for dies and shell plates, powder measure storage, etc.  More on that as I progress.

No, it's not curved.  That's just how the picture turned out.
