I'm looking for a new powder instead of the current 3031 i'm using.  I'd prefer ball if possible because the stick sometimes jams in my powder meter on my LNL AP and causes the neck to taper on the case.

I use AA2520 and W748. AA2230 also seems to be popular.

The surplus powders WC844 and WC846 are popular as well. I've used limited amounts of them in plinking and practice ammo.

I'm shooting 55 grain, so I'm using Ramshot X-Terminator (got it on sale).  Over 55gn should use TAC from what I've read.

If Hodgdon Benchmark is ball, that will probably be my next choice once the X-Terminator runs out.

since extreme tempature variance isnt as bad as where I am I would use H335 or Benchmark. I personally use Varget. Its gets 100f in the summer and 0 or in the winter

i shoot mostly 69gr hornady match, and i liked aa2520 for years. but i'm running out and will not be buying more.
after western powders bought accurate arms, the buring rate consistency was not as consistent as it once was.

i've bought 8pds of w748 because of the improvements winchester has made to make w748 a cooler burning powder. so more people are returning to the powder that most closely resembles the ball powder winchester uses for the military.

tac from ramshot (western powders again) has a good reputation. i loaded it for a friend for his remy 700 and it preformed very well. meters like water. tac doesn't get the popularity because it's not carried as many places as other powders. but tac should definately be on anyone's short list if it is available locally.
