When the 22 market bombed hard core in 2013 and GSG had a ton of inventory, they devised the plan to reduce the cost of the gun by changing the stock to a lesser expensive to produce one.  We were skeptical about it because it wasn't the gun's fault that the market tanked, it was the ammo, but we figured we'd give it a whirl anyway.  Needless to say, it wasn't a very popular version with our distributors either because it didn't reduce the price enough to warrant the purchase during the ammo crash, so ultimately, I only ever brought in 150 of them.  We do have the regular brown wood and all the metal fixtures and screws etc available for sale through our CS department, so if you'd like to upgrade you can email [email protected] or call us at 1-800-290-0065 and speak with one of our CS team to get the info.  We also do have mags available but our MSRPs are very strictly enforced so odds are you can find them from other online retailers at a better rate.
