Hi Chris,
I sent you an e-mail a few days ago, I would like to order an extra set of safety levers for the GSG-5. I called and left a message with Sharron. Thank you sir. |

Anyone still home at ATI for GSG?
Sent an email a few days ago about needing updated/upgraded parts for my GSG-1911 and haven't heard from anyone? What do I need to to about getting the updated/upgraded parts? |
|
|
Hey guys,
Again we're down some staff and are playing email catch up right now as almost all of us were out for shot and half of us are still out doing shows. I'm going to be catching up on the cs and tech service emails today so hang in there. If you emailed and don't hear back, keep trying, we're working on it! |

Hey, here is my problem I have one of the early GSG-5 rifels. It has a ftf on at least 6 out of 20 rounds per mag. I alos have a newer GSG-5pk that never misses a shot. I have tried all kinds of ammo to see if that helps and CCI does work a little better , but the newer 5pk never misses even on the cheapest of ammo. Here is my email [email protected]
And here is my cell phone 423-526-1424 I would like to see if I can get this problem fixed. Thanks Scott |

Chris,
Just a business suggestion: Why not have a web site or link dedicated to GSG part sales and service? A simple click on the part number would virtually eliminate phone calls, e-mail, and forum requests for service. This would free employees from answering requests, and working on filling internet orders. It seems that the GSG is one of the most modified firearms out there, with a demand for spare parts and repair service. Just a thought. Regards, Doug |

Hi,
Unfortunately its not as simple as it may seem. We do have something in the works but its still a work in progress. This will only be functional for parts people want to buy, warranty service parts would still need to be fielded per request by CSRs. We are also in the process now of adding more CSRs to handle the increased work load. Call it growing pains, we need to catch up on the office end to match our product and distribution end. When I started in ATI in 08, there was me and 1 other guy and we were doing about 10 containers a year and had 7 distributors. Now we have 17 distributors and do about 60 containers a year, so its just time for the powers that be to accept that we need to grow on the staff side and not just on the product and work load side. |

I'd recommend making the phone call to anyone needing something or info, I've done the email thing 4 times in the past couple of weeks without any replies. Did email instead of phone becuase of my hours at work, I'm asleep when they are open. Getting ready to make the phone call now.

Anyone know the office hours? Every time I call the message says office closed.

I purchased the PK about a year ago and it has around 500 rounds through it. I've been using CCI mini-mags and it always fired. The other day I started getting misfires where it would happen on just about every cartridge. I field stripped it last night and cleaned it, than this morning went to the range with the same problem. It will fire about 60% of the time and still has a light strike on the cartridge. THe firing pin appears to be moving unrestricted and the bolt face is clean without any crud in the firing pin hole.
The only difference in ammo is that before I used the hollowpoint nickle finished CCI minimag to a solid bullet brass cartridge CCI mini-mag. |

Wow sounds like CS is going down hill at ATI.
This is depressing. |
|
|
It's not so much that as that Chris has always been the go to guy in the forums, and a few months ago he got moved out of the customer service department.
I'd say it's nice to have him posting here at all, seeing as it is no longer in his job description...

Also been trying the phone number and can't reach anyone no matter the time of day it seems. Always goes to a message system and I've left 2 messages with my contact info and no response yet. On top of the unanswered emails I've sent the past few weeks.
I have enjoyed the GSG1911 and GSG5P I own so far, but at this point I will not be purchaseing anything else from them. Stinks because I've gone on a .22 kick the past 6 mopnths and have bought 7 different .22's lately. Had planned to add another GSG1911 (tactical rail model), GSG-5, GSG-5PK, GSG-AK, and the new GSG's that were introduced at the SHOT show in the next few months. I can understand and live with breakdowns and issues with firearms, but hard to overlook something as simple as return emails or phone calls - heck just answer the phone M-F 8-5 - I'm good with that..... |

I had to call 4 times to get through to a live person. But these guys are trying they're best. They are super out numbered and they are doing all they can to serve the GSG community. I only hope they stay around if my sh% ever hits the fan.

Just picked up my first GSG yesterday, a GSG-522 SD, here in Rochester, NY, the home of ATI. There wasn't a pin in the box to secure the removable buttstock, so I gave ATI a call first thing this morning. I got someone at customer service immediately. The gentleman took my info and said he would ship out a pin and screw today and that I should have it tomorrow. Now that's great service. Looking very forward to shooting my new GSG, especially since I feel like I stole it for just $305 !!! Thanks ATI ! Shoo

Also been trying the phone number and can't reach anyone no matter the time of day it seems.
Thanks for all this phone feedback here. I forwarded all the feedback to the powers that be and they made IT dig into it. Low and behold, there was some sort of system setting thinger (technical term) that was not adjusted correctly and they fixed it. So again, your feedback is what we need. Thanks! Also too, I'd like to introduce you guys to Cecil & Darwin, our two new customer service guys. Since we've changed up our departments here, we had to bring on some new blood to help carry the load. Cecil & Darwin will be fielding all CS and Tech emails as well as calls for questions and service. They're still learning, so go easy on them lol. |

I guess that explains why they only shipped half my order and did't even put an invoice/packing slip in the shipment . I called to order a replacement for the right side of my breech body (which had cracked ) and asked if they had the larger SD barrel shrouds in stock. He said yes and it was only $15 so I asked him to include it in the shipment. I was not mad that the breech body had cracked due to bad tolerances in the bolt manufacturing, I was not mad that it was out of warranty even though there is no way this part should ever break under normal use, I was not mad that it was $50 to replace this piece of pot metal, I was pissed that I opened the shipment last night and it did not include all the parts I had ordered. Who ever I spoke to was at extension 139.
Please give us a call back so we can look into this for you. |

Chris, are you guys no longer selling items for the gsg-5? I called today to order a 9" inch barrel but was told that you guys (ATI) do not sell directly to the public and that I need to contact a distributor to get what I needed. Is there any truth to this or was I barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks |

that was a mistake by our new guy, I have talked to him about it and you should be hearing from him today regarding it.
Patience please everyone, we have two new guys in customer service and there's a lot to learn. I am only getting about a an hour a day to actually sit with them and train them, so its going to be a bit before the training wheels come off. They're doing good so far but there's a lot of little nuances and a whole ton of company regulations to follow like what we can and cannot sell etc, so its going to take a few weeks for them to get smooth at it. But they are doing well. I'm sorry I had to leave CS but I did because of the burden of Federal Compliance for an importer, its no easy task. So hang in there guys, once Darwin is fully up to speed he's going to be joining in on here to help carry the load. Thanks! |

Chris
I sent an email (*****@temple.edu) in regards to my broken ambidextrous safety on my gsg 1911. Seems mine came with a defective safety unit. Thanks! |
|
|
OK-new to me GSG 5 2nd gen. I was getting FTF, stovepipes, FTE, etc. Did the loctite on the barrel locking hex screw which seems to have cured some problems, but am still getting misfeeds/FTF. I checked the ejector plate and tried a bit of krazy glue on it (it's a riveted version, but still slightly loose) and not approximately 30 out of 150 rounds which failed to fire. Is this a normal rate of failures for this gun, or is it in need of warranty service?
Thank you! PS-does ATI foot the UPS bill for shipping the gsg? They did for my ATI HP9. Thanks again! |

Well folks-I finally discovered the problem causing my ATI GSG5 to not work.

Still not a peep from ATI regarding my issue mentioned above.
I've called and left a message on voicemail and have posted in this thread. HELLO ? |

Hopefully they make it good-this is the 2nd ATI firearm in a month that has gone belly up on me.
All fasteners were up to snuff. I'd hate to just have sunk $450 into a gun that is an unusable and dangerous pile of pot metal. My Hi Point 995 Crbine gets the snot beaten out of it, and I have to tighten nothing-it's totally reliable. I shouldn't have to take this gun apart and loctite everything constantly due to poor engineering/assembly. |

^^ yea i think thats it...
Sad to say but when I handle my GSG-5SD it feels like an Airsoft rifle :( I try not to clean it every time after range trips for fear of breaking, stripping, or loosening up. A brush and some q tips around the bolt and breech face is the recent regiment with a swab or two down the barrel. Although the rifle isnt as clean as my usual standards, it will have to suffice. PS im really afraid of the Ejector breaking off due to thoes cheap rivets. I would be worry free if ATI was quicker with responses. I know they are SUPER busy because of these damage prone weapons and I know they are doing the best they can. But I hate shipping out firearms to be fixed. |
|
|
I just completely stripped my gsg5, and all fasteners are snug. I blame the problems on sub standard metal.
I also wanted to add: With all due respect to the folks at ATI, Ray (ATI Master Gunsmith) did an outstanding job on my HP9 pistol. He worked on it, and made it better than new. Thank you, Ray! |
|
|
Well, I would love to shoot my gun, but felt that it is better to err on the side of caution, and wait for a return call or email from ATI. Hopefully they will get back to me soon, but I just don't think it's safe to be firing this rifle in its current state.

Good news: Cecil at ATI is going to warranty my GSG5 as well as the drum mag that malfunctioned. I will give a full range report as soon as I receive the gun back, and get a few hour range time using Federal ammo.
|
|
|
I am on my 2nd drum mad for the GSG. 1st one was cracked and this is the replacement. 7 rounds is the most I have been able to fire without a jam/FTF. Its has been lubed and I use the recommended ammo. The stick magazines work flawlessly.
What are my options at this point? |

Could you give me a list/quote on parts to convert a GSG-5PK to a GSG-5P.
Could you also tell me the overall length difference between these two folding stocks for the GSG-5 GER202262 vs ATIFLDSTK |

If you buy a used GSG that the warranty has been activated on already, the warranty remains valid for the rest of it's active period. If you buy a used GSG that the previous owner never activated the warranty on, you can register the gun in the warranty section of our website and take advantage of it. We do recommend that you call our customer service center if you buy a used gun to check the history, this way if your gun has been in for service or if the previous owner has ordered parts (we'd need their name for that check) we can let you know. Like a carfax, but for a gun. gunfax. A spring feel out when i was cleaning my gsg5sd i lost it . I think its spring number 57 , its the spring you see when you look in the breach
The bolt stop spring, aka bolt hold open spring. the #1 most notorious GSG-5/522 part cause it flies away when you open the gun. Give our boys a call at 800-290-0065 and let them know its gone. Have your serial available. When i ran the CS dept, we used to send a couple to people under warranty. As I am removed from that dept now for some time, idk if that's still the case, but I know we get a lot of calls on those all the time so I really don't foresee it as an issue. I don't know how long it's been like this but the weak side on my 1911 safety is broken. Anyway to get a new one?
I never use the right side and the gun is only a couple months old. Yeah, that's no good. That's definately a warranty thing right out of the gate because you need to have a functional safety. Give our guys a call at 800-290-0065 and have your serial number available, they should send you out parts right away or get you set up with an RA# if you'd rather we do the repair. |
