I've thought about doing the supressor thing for my GSG, but I did it already for my AR so I could have supressed .223 and .22. Now I'm doing the SBR for the AR so I can have a dedicated .22 upper. So I guess I'll have to hold off for now.

Did they say how many were inbound by chance? |

Hey - anyone have the ability to do a field strip of the GSG-5 and put it on YouTube? Show us where to clean and what they use, etc?
Thanks. |
I don't have a video camera but may take pics, the quality of youtube sucks for videos anyway. are you just asking about stripping down per the manual or actually taking the whole weapon apart? I just strip it down per the manual. Take non-chloranated brake cleaner and spray it into the breech-housing assembly (removed from the receiver of course). I spray it down a couple of times making sure to get all the .22 powder residue and all that gritty stuff out of there. Wipe it down throughly with paper towels as best you can. I then put one drop of lube, I use FP10, on each of the two springs and put one drop on the inside of the breech-housing where the bolt slides . Set that aside then. I then just clean the barrel with a dewey nylon coated cleaning rod, pushing the rod into the receiver, out toward the barrel crown. Clean it just like any other weapon. Done. |

so what about the double mag clamps, anyone found anything that works yet
I figured that a field strip video would be well received I appreciate the hints though.
I had the double mag clamp that was too tight. I had it at the range last night and pulled one of the mags out roughly. There was a stickied padding to help the fit. One flew out and I figured I can play around with it so the fit isn't too tight that it interferes with the ammo feed. |

Anyone know what the overall length is with the retractable stock is the forward position?

I have a few inbound that are airsoft style. The mags look similar so I will let you know how they work out. 4-7 days travel time from Hong Kong....where else. H&K couplers will not work- too tight and block the follower. The elastic-style seem to bind the spring too much. I have not tried the $9.99 Gunbroker specials that look like wings with the wingnut in the middle...won't either.... Echo |

Watch out with those A-Zooms! Notice it says NOT dry fire snap caps. You'll probably break your firing pin if you use those as snap caps! They are solid aluminum just for action and feeding checks.

Does anyone know what needs to be changed/modified in order for the G&G stock to work with the GSG5? |
Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a
drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" . |
I bought it and tried it - top was too tight. I figured it would take too much dremeling and shaving off plastic (and getting the depth rightfor that matter) for me. See the pic (sorry for the quality - left is G&G and right is stock GSG-5. I am impatient and not the greatest with a dremel. I didn't want to mess up and render a 80 dollar airsoft item useless. I decided to wait. However, I must say that it is of good quality and solid. Too bad it doesn't fit nicely. Soup-Nazi has confirmed that his CA UMP stock fits without issue and too much work. |
I have an airsoft clamp as well and it messes with the feed. However, I did not take the pads off to try. When I put the clamp at the base of the mags, I can get 20 rounds in there for what it's worth. I paid $18 for thhing and I am teetering on whether to go back and get a refund at the airsoft store. |
Updated the main page with that photo showing why the G&G UMP type stock won't fit. Thanks JRX35.
Has anybody successfully modified the G&G stock to fit the GSG? I'm only asking as I have one on the way. |

So just to confirm, the CA side folding UMP stock fits without any special modifications required?

It seems to vary from stock to stock. |

Mine is ordered, so we will see when it gets here. |

I called Airsoftextreme and they got it in stock in LA. I will be there on Tues to pick it up. I also went to AirsoftCQB and returned their mount and mag clamp (gave up - don't really need it anyway) and put the credit towards a G&P Aimpoint clone. Not bad so far. This one does green and red dot. I was inspired but you guys having good reviews on these clones so I bit the bullet. Now, I gotta figure out what the hell I go with the NCStar red dot sight. |

Man I gotta get me one....come on tax return.

OK pops572 just sent me an IM stating that with the collapsible stock that he has, even though it covers the ejection port a little bit, the gun still will run without problems with the stock in the collapsed postion.
Has anyone else tried to fire with one of those collapsible stocks on and fully pushed in all the way??? |
i will do it tomorrow at the range, im going to sight in my aimpoint some more, ran out of time today... i will check and report back tomorrow... PS had like 3 people think i had a fully supressed mp5 today |
i fired 2 mags thew it with the stock fully collapsed... no FTF...it works perfect...with it fully retracted, as we all know, it partialy blocks the ejection port, BUT it is not enough to hinder the operation... as far as i could tell the empty cassings were not even hitting the part that partialy blocks it, they fly right over the top... AWESOME!!! |

Great news! That should make a lot of people happy.

I have the CA UMP stock installed. It fits wonderfully. Thanks to Soup-Nazi for being the successful guinea pig. |
Does it fit tight to the gun...and does it have any wobble or flex when you press it to your shoulder...Thanks for any help
The answer is no. The CA UMP gets rid of the annoying wobble that I experienced with the standard GSG-5 stock. |
Has anyone removed their barrel shroud/cover/fake supressor yet?
I would be interested in knowing if the threads are clockwise or counter-clockwise and what diameter. |
It just unscrews. :) |
I know but I don't have my GSG-5 yet and am trying to figure out what I will need to make to mount up a quick detach MP5 supressor(airsoft) for a little added realism.
where are you guys finding these ump stocks for here in the states.
the only one i can find is $85 |
Wow.... that is one sexy little .22 rifle!
I always wanted an MP5 and with the GSG-5 I can actually afford to look like I have one. |

I agree with the second part. Guns have a necessity the same as a condom, better to have one and not need it then to need it and not have one. |

I updated page1 with purchase links for stuff I know where to get it at. So if you are in the "stock" section and see the UMP type folding, there is a purchase link now. I'll just have to wait for the other people to get back to me on some of the other stuff.
Im building a GSG-5 PDW. We'll see how this turns out. I still need to know what those plastic peices above the barrel are, back by the block that holds the barrel.
So I'm really liking what member: ADOR did for his hand guards/light combo, but I'm thinking I might want a different light in mine as I'm picky about light. Anyone know what style or brand of lights will work in this hand guard? First pic is of ADOR's setup, the following pics are the hand guards w/o the light.
I "believe" if i am thinking of same thing. its aluminum and part of the charging Handel tube. post pic? |

Sweet, thanks Obrien!

Just received my CA B&T folding stock, this stock is solid as hell. No mods, just slight pressure to fit it and the cheek weld is improved dramatically. I can actually see the red dot better w/o that annoying hump like on the A2.

I have been debating which aftermarket stock to get. It looks like the concensus on the CA B&T Folder is all good. I think I am going to purchase one and try it. With that said, I should purchase a GSG-5 first! I have already purchased 3-22rd mags for it and I haven't even ordered the weapon yet!
Yeah, I suggest you get a rifle soon. Check your local shops or gun shows/ gunbroker as everyone ordering one is just having to wait it out as they're only importing a small number @ a time. I'm going on month 4 of waiting since I ordered.

My CA B&T MP5 Type Folding stock finally got here. I did have to dremel out some of the plastic along the top edge of the inside of the stock, maybe about 1/16" or so. Mine was just way too tight. After doing that it was still a bit tight but I lubed it up with wheel bearing grease, just a light coating and pushed it on.
This stock locks up 100% tight with no wobble what-so-ever. With the stock locked into its full extended position, there is no play in the stock from where it attaches to the receiver or where the pin is to fold it. When folded, you can't lock the stock to a folded position, but it will stay folded by itself do to resistance on the pin that the stock swivels on. This is 100 times better than the POS the GSG ships with. |
