Spider Monkey is pretty gentlemanly

Although I'd go with the Satin Blade over PVD black for gentleman style

Budget?

If money is no (or little) object, I'd recommend a CRK Mnandi, but that may be out of range...

The emissary and new Amicus are pretty thin and light.

Both are assisted so kinda loud.

Benchmade has the Valet which is a nice little gentleman's folder with an axis lock and incredible steel(M390)

Bottom knife

Yeah I really like the benchmade as well.  It looks still a little beefier than I want though.

For something small, light, and somewhat elegant...

I'd go with the Zero Tolerance ZT 0450CF.

Benchmade Small Summit Lake.

I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet.  IMO, it's the perfect combination of a gentleman's knife with modern quality.

I really like the Benchmade 483 Shori for the most part.  The lock button is a little small and not very comfortable to push, but it's small, light, and has a great blade shape and sharpness.

I really want the slimline oversized switch from hubertus. But it's gonna be over 300 bucks direct from Germany.

Pick a flavor.

Black is the most gentlemanly flavor.

I like the Spyderco Kiwi4. Very small/light, and feels great in the hand.

For a gentlemen's EDC, I'd recommend the Zero Tolerance 0770cf.  It's pretty much the perfect gentleman's EDC.  3.25" stonewashed Elmax blade, incredibly thin machined carbon fiber handle, titanium lock, and it only weighs 3oz.  It's slightly out of your budget at $180, but it's worth stretching the budget in my opinion.

Also, ZT does offer it with a titanium handle.  It's .7 oz heavier and not as classy looking, but it is $20 cheaper and still an excellent knife.

And if your budget is too strict for either of those, I'd go with the Spyderco Sage 5.  Not as nice and classy as the ZT 0770cf, but still and excellent knife and priced at $130.

My ZT 0770cf:

Another vote for the 0770cf, it's my "dress knife" or "gentlemans knife" in my rotation.  For all the reasons already mentioned, super light, CF is classy looking, and the blade lends itself to easy sharpening and is classic ZT quality with awesome warranty and customer service.  Definetely worth bumping the budget a little bit.

Have you bought a damn knife yet?!

Another vote here for the Urban Trapper. Super cool look and function is great... as long as this is for light duty and you aren't expecting a workhorse. It's a very classy design, and I will never get rid of mine. My two cents is a Benchmade Foray if you are still in the market. That is what I carry whenever I am in slacks or wearing dress shoes. It is a bit out of your price range but has an awesome deep carry clip, can handle anything you throw at it too. You've had a few months to save up...
