Finally going to invest in a meat cleaver but have no idea what's good and what's not.

Anyone with experience willing to steer me right?  Would not like to spend more than $100 and would prefer less.

This is all you need. http://www.cutlerymania.com/Dexter-Russell-9-inch-Cleaver-p/s5289.htm?gclid=Cj0KEQjwmKG5BRDv4YaE5t6oqf0BEiQAwqDNfI3Q0QFmvEYbCtYUrs4qZ_7E_MmyxKS5TyW5hSRuqZsaAmED8P8HAQ&click=2

You can find one less expensive with a google search, it's carbon steel  This is what it looks like after 40 years of use.

Thanks, I was looking at Dexter Russell.  Have a few of their knives and am satisfied with them.

Your best by is good US vintage steel. Look for a decent profile on the blade and a decent handle.  Clean it up and sharpen it and and you should be gtg.

Got my cleaver today and holy shit is it big.  Took awhile to get since they had to melt down three railroad engines to get the metal.
I could chop wood with that and it came really sharp.  I'm afraid to use it or drop it.
