Started getting into nice folding knives in the last couple years. Purchased a cold steel gi tanto as a starter fixed blade

Pretty happy with it for the price but the handle leaves me wanting more. Anyone make something for it or have a way I can improve it?

Pretty much anything can be used as slabs for that blade.

Micarta, wood, G-10. Take your pic.

Cord wrap is easy. IIRC it's a copy of a Strider blade and there's demos on Strider's cord wrap around the net.

I remember the Striders first came out. They looked cool but I never had much use for them.

I'm assuming bought some and cut it to fit.  Check out any knife supply website or even ebay.  If you decide to go the micarta/g10 route make sure that you use a proper respirator!

Dust mask should be sufficient. It isn't fiberglass. Same as normal dust.

Got the g10 at knifekits. Used a wheel grinder on the knife and handle. Dremel to texture it. Sandpaper around dowels would work too.

I sent you a private message a while back about paracord and Japanese style cord wrapping. Did you get it?

Fiberglass impregnated with epoxy is exactly what G10 is.

Yes, make sure you use a proper respirator, you don't want that stuff in your lungs.
