Title says it all what is the rarest or most unusual knife you own? For me it's a Izhmash ballistic knife.

Barry Dawson model 100.

Not really unusual, but since I designed it that must count for rare.    This is my take on the Kephart pattern, expertly made by Gene Ingram.  It's S30V with micarta scales.

Nice man that's a good looking blade and it's cool that you did the design and had Gene build it.

I have one of the original black knives made by Ron Miller from the early 1990s.  The first coil spring autos given to Navy SEALs and special forces.

Still a beast with strong spring snap.

Not all that rare, and not all that unusual, but it is a fine example of the Fallkniven F1

Then again, here's Zaza's ivory-handled carving set, purchased in England before they immigrated to the US back in '38.

Top knife is a Kit Carson large #4 I bought in the mid 1990's from the maker at the NY Custom Knife show.
MR Carson (RIP) has since passed and the knife is going up in value.

Just got a knife from a guy in Croatia who found an old M18 Hellcat and took some ball bearings and forged knives out of those ball bearings.

Nothing that crazy rare, but still some rare-ish stuff.

Simonich Cuda Talon, made of Talonite steel. Very rare steel. Still has a virgin edge.

US made Cold Steel Master Hunter.

First gen Buckmaster. Very few have the compass in the handle.

Only a few hundred of this first gen Blackjack Marauder were made. Still a virgin edge. Stopped production back in the early 80s.

Bark River custom machete. Built to order. Also has an unused, very sharp edge.

Busse Badger Attack 3. No longer avail.

Virgin Chris Reeves Classic with a semi custom "reflection" tooling in the titanium handle.

Custom NE. This was inherited from my late brother. Researched it off/on for about 2yrs, at places like Blade Forum. Still zero luck. Very well made. Tapered steel on the handle end also. Wish I knew what kind of steel was used. Very sharp and apparently still has an unused edge.

DIR-spec dive knife from Aubert & Duval X15tn nitrogen stainless.
1 of 7

I made them.
To get the steel I had to make #1 for the Auber & Duval US distributor.
He had a sample FedEx'd to me direct from France.

#7 is mine, the rest were gifts to people who deserved them.

I have quite a few custom knives but I have to say my all time favorite is a Barry Wood Swing-Back that I purchased 44 years ago.  Still in great shape and carried quite often.  Barry Wood made knives in Venice, CA for a short period of time before selling his design to Colt.  One of the first I know of to use Micarta for handles.

I have a Polkowski made Kasper Scorpion that was sent off and had the G10 handles professionally checkered prior to delivery to the original owner. I talked to Al Polkowski prior to his death and he remembered the knife and said it is the only checkered handled knife he ever produced.

Bowie and sheath made 1943 by "Uncle Bob" Riggs in Oregon.  Riggs was an eighty-year-old knife smith who took it on himself to make knives for the boys going overseas in World War II, who marked his knives with a distinctive "V."  My grandfather ordered this one for his son, who shipped out long before the knife ever arrived.  It has never been used.

Definitely would be my error stamped extra number 1 in model number (61111 1/2L) 1965 Case swingguard cheetah. Its a virgin blade just a little discoloration from being closed in drawer.

With its 1940's-1965 family of Cases.

That sounds about correct on year for the color your saying, that scout knife of mine is a 40's model. If you look at your blade you can date it. If it's a post 1970 it will have little tiny dots stamped into it. 10dot is 1970 9 dot is 71 8 dot is 72.   I'm going off of memory but a quick Google search on dating case knives will tell your exact year. Take a pic of your case tang stamp and I'll tell you what year it is.
All of mine came from my wife's great uncle when I helped them clean the estate I asked to keep them and pass them on to my son. He was definitely a case knife collector and there is still some more hidden away as we clean and sort things at his old house.

Cold Steel "Hamidashi."  They stopped making them a long time ago. I bought it about 15 years ago for $400 on sale. While not so rare or unusual, I have three Randall Made Knives that I am very happy with. They are the model 12 Raymond Thorpe Confederate Bowie, the model 14 Attack, and the model 2 Fighting Stiletto. I really like Randall made knives, they're the best knives I own.

Signed Pat Crawford hollow ground Combat Tanto with titanium scales.

I bought it on a whim back in the mid 90s and wasn't really into knives back then.

I've got a few Boker/Hubertus lever lock autos, like the 912/915 series.
