Hey guys I'm looking for a new EDC knife. I generally go for the big ones. I have recently been carrying a spyderco manix XL, and before that a benchmade griptilian. I like the larger knives, but I wouldn't mind having something smaller in the group. It doesn't matter if it is a folder or an auto, and I don't really have a budget that I want to stay under, but I think $300 might be the upper limit if there was one, but if there is something amazing out there that is above that, then I'll look at it.

I want something that I can go online order and get in a few days, I don't want to get on some wait list for a custom job, but I am not against a custom knife, as long as I can get online and order it.

Let me know what you would get.

Thanks.

I like the size of that 810, but they might have overdone it with the blue.

Grayman knives look at the satu! If that's too big look at the dua, both awesome knives!

Emerson something.  I have a Commander I'm very happy with.

A friend of mine just picked up a pro-tech Brend model #1 Auto.  Looks very nice to me.  It's a bit big for most though.

He loves his TACTICAL RESPONSE 3 as well.

I really like Spyderco.  Zero Tolerance too.  Check out BladHQ, plenty to choose from.

I've been lusting over the Benchmade HK axis (14717 or 14715) recently.

I'm liking the Benchmade 940-1 and the Benchmade Nakamura 484-1

Both $267 so deciding would be a chore. Anyone have any other suggestions, or any input on the two listed above?

I carry a Benchmade Auto Stryker. Not so large it feels like a brick, not so small that it feels dainty.

If your wanting something on the smaller side, check out DPx.

How about the Zero Tolerance 562?  It is a hefty enough knife but it has a slim profile and a deep carry clip, it doesn't take up too much room in your pocket.

I love that deeeeep carry, but I'm not a fan of how that 562 locks, that funny looking side looks bad in my opinion.

Frame locks in general?  Oh, you're missing out.  The world of framelock-flippers is a fun ride.

If you don't have an interest in frame locks, look at the Spyderco Rubicon.  It's a stout liner lock, on knifeworks it is for sale for $263.

Bought this a couple weeks ago at A.G. Russell; ZT 0200. I'm usually a Benchmade assisted axis kind-of-guy, but I'm really liking this knife. Not small at 4", but I think most ZTs run 3.25"-3.5".

Looks nice. I'll probably buy something today while I am up there.

Didn't find anything that made me want to spend money. I handled a few, but still looking.

The guy working there wasn't much help when I asked questions.

I wish that they had that spyderco Rubicon, but they didn't seem to have many spydercos.

The rubicon looks sweet - I've been tempted to pick it up but it seems it is kind of a smaller knife, though with a fat handle.  Every review I've read of it, however, has been nothing but praise for the quality of the knife, and the design looks killer.  If you're looking for a "small" knife it might be really cool.

I ended up getting the Benchmade 940-1. It is smaller than what I normally carry but the blade is still plenty big and with that S90V metal I assume it will be strong enough to handle anything I throw at it.

Thanks for the help guys.

I've been EDCing a Spyderco Paramilitary II for several years. Great knife and not overly expensive.

Instead of one, get 4 , get a benchmade mini gip, spyderco delica4, rat2, and a zancudo. Those were my purchases for this month and I love all of them and i only spent like 260 ish. Two nice knives and two beaters. Options man, options...

I bought Spyderco's Tatanka a few weeks ago and love it. The blade is razor-sharp and the knife feels really good in the hand. I don't carry it every day, but may add it to my rotation. I mainly bought it for a camping/hiking knife but it's just too cool to put down for long!
