This isn't an ESEE Izula, it's a knockoff.  It's a "banshee" made by Ghost Knives, this appears to be their only product.

Dimensions a slightly different than an izula, steel is different, waranty kinda reads wierd but loks like a nice little made in USA knife. Am i going to buy one, no do i have an izula, no, i just make my own lol $80 buys a nice little pile of steel.

Its actually pretty easy. The trick is a skeletonized handle.

Or a drill press.....(and a good vice), make sure that the blade is backwards of the rotation of the bit so that if it does take off, it's not trying to be a lawnmower blade for your fingers.

Lots of videos and threads on it

Here's me figuring out my son's knife. Real Izula.

The Becker BK24 is like an Izula with a bigger blade, in D2.  I've got one, it's a great knife.

To be fair, calling it a knockoff is a stretch, IMO. The handle is different as well as the blade shape. It's not as if ESEE has a patent on a small knife with a skeletonized handle.

The bk24 is similar in size and has a skeleton  handle does that make it a knock off   also. Sorry when i here knock off i think of cheap Chinese  knives made of lesser quality steel at about half the price. What i see here is just another USA  made with a quality steel knife with a skeletonized handle. Guess the buck paklite is a knock off also and all the others.  Have you bought and used one of these, any other reason than it resembles  an izula not to give it a try.

Yeah I have one, it says ESEE on it.  I take that to mean that Ka-Bar didn't rip off their design, they licensed it.

I like to see people get paid for their work instead of having it stolen.  If that makes me a tool of the evil 1% corporations, then so be it.  Have fun occupying whatever.

Yes, because they're not ripoffs of some other company's design.

Blade shape and handle shape are completely different between the BK 11 and the izula.

The knife OP posted is VERY similar in blade shape and outer handle shape, with the exception of the ring on the izula which the "knockoff" in question lacks.

The other things I am looking at is the location of the jimping on the top of the blade, the location and size of the choil, and the overall shape of the blade.  Those attributes, the ones that matter, are VERY similar.

Now, I wish that ESEE would put out blades in D2, I really really wish they would.  But that's another argument for another day.

No, I'm not a trademark lawyer or other counterfeit goods chaser.  The blades in question are clearly not "identical", nor does the blade in question, to my knowledge, claim to be an Izula.  Rip-off of the design argument I can see.  However, most all knives seem to share some common characteristics that cause them to be similar and arguably rip-offs of the original. ymmv

I try not to buy stuff from China for the same reason that I don't want my job moved to China.
