No idea specifically, but if that was the budget the maker would be Ray Laconico

If your gonna go for $1000 budget why not go a little more and get a MSC Custom or a Chaves Redncion.

Would be a hinderer for me, either a production grind and spend the eextra on dressing it up with TI hardware and scales or if you could find one a Rick Hinderer Custom. Check the knife hunter out

I would get a pair of discontinued Benchmade's....a 610 and a 615 Rukus..and pocket the rest of the cash.

Microtech Socom Delta series. No need to spend hundreds more on a similar quality blade.

I'd be looking at Hinderers, Mick Strider Customs, Emerson Customs to start.  $1k is high end for a mid tech and a bit low for nice customs so you're sort of in a grey area.

Fallkniven Gentleman.  You'll have plenty left for a good fixed blade, too.  A really good one.

I have one of these and carried it for a couple months.  Great knife, however the handle faded.

I think you made a great decision buying multiple knives. Plenty of fantastic knives there.

Once you get above a certain price point, all you're paying for is the exclusivity and name. $1k is definitely in that zone.

$1000 EDC knife? Whoaaaa

I've had many $400-$1000 custom pockets knives from many different makers. I sold all of them and bought more guns. Although I appreciate what goes into a fine custom knife I never had one that out performed my spydercos or benchmades. Factory knives perform as good as most customs these days. Hard to spend that kind of money for a tool that peforms no better then a $200 knife. Now as art or collecting pieces I can see but as an EDC I can not and I say this as someone who EDC'd an early Emerson CQC6, Kit Carson, Charles Marlowe and Allen Elshwitz(spelling?) folders.

If you spend a grand on an EDC you're overspending by at LEAST $600, probably more like 7 or 8.

You say this but don't understand that it can be applied to everything.

What kind of car do you drive? I can show you a cheaper one that works just as well for transportation

What guns do you own? I can show you much cheaper options.

What watch? same idea...

Custom knives are an extension of the persons wants and desires. if they want a custom to carry then why attempt to dissuade them from the choice. thats like me telling you a hi point will kill a man dead just as good as my p30 or custom 1911... its true bu t we don't all own hi points
