There is a gentleman on Facebook, who modifies Swiss Army Knives (IMODSAK on FB ).

He takes your standard everyday SAK, and customizes them. Adding copper, wood, or titanium scales. Pretty much anything you want.

He also acid washes all the tools.
Here are some of his pics:

I ordered one from him, with solid copper scales.

Here is mine when I received it:

Crappy pic, but that's all I have right now.

Once I received it, I contacted a master engraver in Thailand, and sent the knife to him.

Here are some examples of his work:

He does very nice work, and has a long waiting list.

He recently started on mine.

Here are some pics:

That's just one side, he still has a ton of work to do, but it's going to be the coolest thing I own once it's complete.

I already have plans to send some other copper items to him for some engraving work.

Will post more pics as I receive them.

That is beautiful work. I would feel like it belonged in a case afterwards instead of just my pocket, but it really is beautiful. I like the acid wash treatment the first guy is giving the tools. Can you send him one that you own for the treatment or do you have to order the knife and treatment from him altogether?

The engraving is top notch but a little fancy for my taste, however I would like a simple custom scale and acid wash. Going to find him on Facebook. Thanks for sharing

I don't know what his policy is, but he is very easy to talk too and deal with.

If you are on FB, send him a message.

That's one expensive looking $16 knife.

I have $400 - $500 in it by the time I get it back.

Small price to pay for quality work from 2 different craftsmen.

I think.

Now you're going to need to find a blade made of M390 or 110SV. You can't have a 420 blade on a $600 knife.

Received pictures this morning. It's finished.

Once I get it back, it will go back to iMODSAK to have a brass liner installed, swap out the tools for the shiney ones, and possibly add a couple different tools as well.

Can you lay out the various costs associated at each step?

I believe the knife was $140 and the engraving was $200

Not sure how much it will cost to replace the liners with brass ones, and swap / exchange the tools.
