i have an 'Original Bowie Knife' made by the Olsen Knife Company in Solingen Germany
it was my fathers and when he died it was passed onto me so i know its at least 25 years old
and its brand new still with the factory edge on the blade and im curious of what the value would be?

A few quick searches put its value at not much.  I could be wrong but from googling the company and model, it seems like they aren't really that valuable to collectors.  I found some for sale in different places for as much as 150 and as little as 50 and none of them had any interest.

A little of both.  If I get the time a little later, I'll see if I can get some links.  I found a little article about the history of the company that I'll see if I can find again as well.

i just seen a story today that Emeril and Martha Stewart were busted for selling cheap Chinese kitchen knives with a Solingen Germany stamp on them.
the city or the company is suing those two big time. funny stuff

That knife should be an excellent user. I have a more modern knife I'd trade ya for it.

Yours needs some stag on it and a better sheath. I can do that.

Cool, even if it's not worth much it looks like a good user. Keep it and pass it on to your children.

Can't you see I'm working an angle here, geez.

By the time his kids grow up, it won't be carbon fiber and glow in the dark G10, they will have fucking lightsabers. Me, I appreciate the old school.

Now I see what you did there.

It appears that your bowie may have more sentimental value than monetary value.

Personally, i'd keep it in new condition and pass it down to my son when the time comes.
