Does anyone know if it's possible to modify an 0350 to not be automatic? I saw a picture of this and all I can think is WANT.

the 350 isnt an auto. Its spring assisted and yes you can take the torsion spring out.

I wouldn't sweat a $60 knife being confiscated, but for that kind of coin I'd prefer to keep it. I just saw a video on youtube and it looks like it works perfectly with the torsion bar removed. |

I think you probably have it backwards. Most states are okay with assisted. Few states are not.

Take it apart, take a photo before removing the torsion bar to have a record of which holes hold which part, remove bar, reassemble minus bar. Good to go. I used this video to help me disassemble: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4SL9bmY0TY Don't tighten the pivot screw too much or else you won't be able to use the flipper. |

I have quite a few Kershaw's and my daily carry isoften a Kershaw 1475. It is a big, thin, very sturdy folder.
For tough jobs in the field I carry a HEST. |

ZT makes some outstanding knives.
The 0350 might be one of the best bangs for your buck out there. I think my personal favorite though is my 0550. For some reason it finds it way into my pocket more than most of my collection. |

A German company names Cuscadi makes them. They have other options that are pretty cool too. I can't figure out how to buy them though, nor pricing. Being German I bet they're well over $100 though. http://www.cuscadi.de/category/manufacturer/zerotolerance/ |

yeah I only paid like $100 for the knife and I like the scales it came with....so I'm definitely going to pass....
If those were like $50 +/- I would've been all over it though! |

You can do the same thing to the factory scales with a file. People do it all the time. You might want to practice on a cheaper knife or a G-10 slab first though. |

ZT knives are not that popular here. The 0350 is probably the most popular here and also the least expensive. Conversely, the least popular, the030* series, is also the most expensive. People go nuts over the cheaper Kershaws like the Cryo. Here, it seems to be more about what's cheapest than what is the strongest, most durable, or most collectible and unique. Personally, I even the regular Kershaw line , I prefer the more unique models. The G10 Leek is very unique . I dig it. But, it is about as expensive as a ZT 0350. My view is, if isn't as expensive as an arm and a leg and you want it, just get it. Heck, my ZT 0301 cost more than a lot of small guns. The important thing is that a person should get something if they want it and the price is decent.

I really like the 30X/350 series of knives. Very stout and solid. I have Emersons and Striders and the ZT seem to be on par and in some areas, better quality.

I've been looking heavily at the ZT 0350 to finally replace my old Spyderco that was stolen a while back. I can't even remember the model of my Spyderco since I was a teenager when I bought it and I'm now in my early 30s. I've been looking at it both on Amazon and on SKD Tactical. The price is the same and I would prefer to deal with a site sponsor, but SKD just has the plain black version Amazon has it with the tiger stripe blade.

ZT makes great knives. The 561 replaced the 350 as my EDC. The action on the 561 is oh-so silky smooth, due to the KVT. I think it is incredible on a production knife. I am a fan of wharncliffe blades, so my next knife will likely be a Kershaw Tilt.
