I'm quite enamored with the feel of this knife and its weight. At 5.25" (blade) it's legal enough to carry in Texas. I've read of issues with the glass reinforced nylon sheath dulling the blade. I'm not sure how to tell which one I have. In any case, I'm not crazy about how the factory sheath attaches to the belt. For outdoors and whatnot it is fine. There is quite a bit of room in the belt loop portion, and the sheath will ride up when pulling the knife out. If I decide I'd like to carry the knife discretely (maybe even IWB) then I might like something a little more suited for those applications, something that hugs the body. Any recommendations? |

Edit: Nevermind. I couldn't see the pictures on my phone. Check Ebay for custom BK2 sheaths.

I'm judging by the lack of responses that no one has tried Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop?
Custom Kydex Sheath for BK2 It's $40 and probably another $10 for shipping would be my guess. There is a lot of cool stuff on their website. They have a nice selection of ESEE knives which I've read are another excellent survival knife. I may have found my next purchase. |

They also have replacement Micarta handles for the BK2, which have a better grip than the smooth plastic handle....cost about $40.

Seems like a pretty good deal for one of their sheaths. Either way, for what you describe a large teklok is adjustable to belt size and it prevents the sheath from riding up if you set it right. |

I'm actually looking at this horizontal kydex sheath now. Grizzly Outdoors Horizontal Kydex Sheath for BK2 Another thought crossing my mind is modifying the factory sheath. I see I can outfit it with a Tek-Lok attachment. A response from KaBar informed me that they have reduced glass content in their factory sheath (there is no such thing as a 100% glass free BK2 factory sheath). Well, at least I have options now. |

It's not the sheath I despise on mine, it's the knife. Doesn't fit my large hands, feels bulky, unbalanced, stubby.
I am fond of those hedgehog sheaths. |
