Arts and crafts time!

Made my first lanyard!

Originally it was supposed to be big enough to put around my wrist while I chop but I didn't like it so I just filled it in but now I can keep my last two fingers in it. I left a loop at the end so I can attach a carabiner for storage and it has 6ish feet of 550 cord tied into it.

I may cut it off and make it shorter but I'm digging it for the time being.

Just got red Izula for wife and purple for son (green Izula is his too), and the DE 3 for me to replace the tan 4 for EDC.  Just need a 6 for a complete run for me, not sure if I want an LS.

Same here, in fact I have another one on the way, the new stainless version.  I like a longer handle on most fixed blades and the Izula handle is really short but for pocket carry it's perfect.  The Izula is the closest to a perfect pocket carry fixed blade I've seen yet.

The TKC G10 scales make the Izula even better, too.

I agree - it's a great little fixed blade and the scales really make a difference.  I'm still waiting for an SS ESEE-4 to become available (blade only) @ TKC...

What ESEE knife would be a good chest rig knife?
Im not looking for a fighting knife, just a general purpose but large enough for personal protection if I run out of bullets :)  ....,Im thinking a Esee 4?

After that a Esee 6 is on the short list

theknifeconnection.net  seems to have good prices any better places?

Best handgun and blade combo imo. Looks good.

I spot a little custom work on that G17. Why not do the same for your -4, and get some "Dale Scales?" They greatly increase the usability of the knife.

Shes a day old... I need to put her to work very soon, at that  point we can determine the needs of the knife! What exactly are Dale Scales?

Linky. They add a thicker 3D feeling that fills the hand. It makes the knife feel twice as big, adding to the usability of the blade. Worth every penny. Dale owns the company.

Please make sure you are buying reall ESEE knives and not a knock off. Luckily for you, Tactical Inovations is an authorized dealer for ESEE. So I think you have a ESEE and not a China mystery steel.

Refer to this page for dealers.

I really prefer V1.  V2 has too much red for me, whereas V1 offsets the red of the blade and the red of the handle by having more black.  It's more balanced, at least to me.

I originally wrapped it in black with the red down the middle but then I wanted to see it in red and realized he tries to get everything in red

Harry;

Nice!  I like the orange scales.

How do you feel about the texture of the scales?  Have you considered sanding them "smooth"?  I have but I'm "hesitating"...
