Photo request. Does anyone have a 4HM or a 3HM they can show compared to a regular 3 or a 4?
I'm mostly interested in seeing a direct compare to the handles for size in comparison to the blade and total OAL. |

I streaked it with mustard and let it sit 45 minutes before I smeared what was left Attached File Left me with something like this after about an hour or so Then I got out the vinegar and soaked it in the paper towel, and folded that around the blade Attached File After another hour... Attached File I rinsed it off lightly as to not take off patina and then hit it with gun oil Attached File I'm glad you like it! I was very happy with the results and contrary to looking gritty, it's butter smooth and sharp as hell. Don't forget to patina the spine or you'll end up with a new looking spine on a beat up patina blade |

I appreciate the advice! My reason I didn't was IIRC bladeforums?
Somewhere esee dealt with too many stripped screws and broken bits, and they called out people to stop breaking their crap by over tightening or fixing what isn't broke. I have been trying to not screw with things lately, and i felt id listen to their advice and leave it assembled but I will try to get some color in it! |

Just a random post to this thread to give a quick report:
Compared to the Ontario Rat-3 I have 1. Much more solid feeling knife. It is thicker, which probably helps. 2. The steel's heat treat feels better in sharpening, and took to a sharp edge much better than the Ontario. 3. Sheath is 100% better, the forming is better, the quality of the plastic is better, the clip is better. I still like the Rat-3 for what it is, but the ESEE product is way better in all the right ways. |

was at a private opening for a cabelas. we had employee discount 20% off. saw the esse 6p and esse5. i'm new to esses and looking for my first. couldn't make a decision . the 5 was thick as hell. with the discount it came out to $270 which still seemed pricy compared to online. what's a good first esse. i'd like to use it for our doors or course and if i had to cut wood with it.

Anyone make scales for the 3HM? I've looked at TKC, but they only seem to make offerings for the 3 series. To my untrained eye, these do not look like they'll fit correctly. First ESEE ever just purchased off the EE, looking for kydex and scale options. Thanks for any suggestions all, really looking forward to starting another habit.

I have not seen any aftermarket scales for the. Him series. The OEM ones look pretty good to me. Similar to the RB3. I haven't liked the OEM scales till I handled an RB3.

I got mine. Scales are too small for my hands. After a minor amount of use and hotspots start forming. I wrapped it with hockey tape for now but the sheath does not work with the friction tape. Looking to add aftermarket scales when available. It would be cool if aftermarket scales were the same color as the original. All right I got a question anyone EDC the Candiru. I'm looking for a some what concealable knife for pocket carry. I think the Izula is to large to pocket carry.
I will be ordering the G10 scales also. |

I'm having one issue with this knife it looks like it wasn't completely profiled the edge keeps rolling side to side and the finish on the edge rough not smooth but it is sharp.

Junglas II, who's got one? The original is too damn big for anything I'm doing but this new one might give my TOPS Tahoma competition.

Quoted: How are you sharpening? Might want to change the angle if it's rolling that easy. And if you want it smooth, your going to have to strop with polish for a while. View Quote I was thinking of sending it back that's the way it came. Not happy with the finish on the edge. I hate to sharpening a new knife it supposed to come sharpened |
