First custom knife I’ve ever owned. Local man in the small town where my ranch is did a few drawings based off my desires and then forged the blade from raw steel. The wood is from a camphor burl I got from Japan and the end of the handle is a piece of old metal we found on the ranch. I don’t know the first thing about knife making or what makes a quality knife, but I’m very happy with the one he made me.

I know Benchmade is verboten around here, but I’ve had and loved these blades.
 So I’m replacing my old EDC Griptilian with a new to me Christmas present from the EE by way of Spyderco's seconds sale, in the evil left hand configuration. Ironically, I got the Griptilian sharpened and my initials on it from Benchmade at the NRA show here in Atlanta years ago.

The Model 1 is from my parents. The Model 5 I bought for myself. Both came from a friend of the family who is a collector. I’ll try and get some better pictures when things slow down.  Attached File |
