Not a BAR. It maybe holds 5 rounds. No more than 10 for sure. I'm just guessing since I don't have enough to put in it.

It's about 4.75" front to back and 5.5" tall from the very bottom to the top.

If it's that long it rules out any .30-06 or x54 round.

Well, the M40A1 was the 106mm recoil less that the M8C was mounted on.
