I wish Armalite would go back to making the brake in multiple pieces like the Leader. The cast version just doesn't break up the design like the old one.
As for the Leader 50, still vaporware until they actually have some on the market. The write up didn't include price, I think the original was more than a Barrett or Serbu. Not gonna generate sells if you're the new kid on the block and cost more. Bullpup designs don't go over well with most as they tend to hate the look or control placements. Only time will tell how well it does. ETA: price is $8,200 MSRP!!! Doesn't include shipping and no mention of a CA legal model or if a caliber conversion is available. 2nd ETA: if they would offer it in bare metal as in the video, that would be badass. All they would need to do is put a clear powder coat on it to protect the parts. |

Cool but no....no...no. I dont want that dam muzzle any closer to my face than my AR50 has it now. Call me a puss if ya want but the chamber beside my face doesnt do it for me either. I like bullpups ....mostly. I have a ps90 and want a tavor, just not in a 50. Thanks for showing it J

Charles St. George worked at Barrett for some time. I worked with him. He is a very knowledgeable engineer and I have no doubt he will bring it out.
Barrett prototyped a bullpup semi auto called the M500. They couldn't get it to cycle reliably. They wouldn't listen to a few of us in the back that had a few common sense suggestions on how to get it to function. They were married to how it was designed and wouldn't change it no matter what. The bullpup style has been done a few times. The M95 is very comfortable to fire. I forgot who made the single shot breech loader bullpup put out back in the early '90s. It was a very nicely made rifle. I fired it at Knob Creek a time or 2. |
