I've got the Barrett m107 and while the spiked feet is great most of the time, out here in the desert, I can foresee some times when they would be bad. (Like shooting off something hard). Does anyone know where I can get smooth inserts to have and be able to put in my bipod when needed?

Thanks

The legs are riveted in by the catch. You need to find an older set of the detachable smooth bottom footed bipod.
Call Barrett, they may actually have them.

Make rubber boots.  Remove when needed.  Function over form.
Or leather.

How would one 'make" rubber boots when they are not in the manufacturing business?

Coat heavily with wax, except on the bottom.  Rub-n-glue a leather pad there.  Dip in handle dip plastic until desired thickness.  Split down the side with a razor knife to peel off the covering.  Remove wax, pad should stay with the boot.

Or use thick rubber sheet and make like you would from leather, lace on and off.  I would still use a leather pad to cover the spikes.
